I think he misses being in the spotlight. He could easily spend the rest of his career getting an easy pay cheque in a shit league. He wants to go out in style. Whether it's too late or not remains to be seen.

I think he went there for the cash and is now realising that cold dark Canadian winters are not conducive to his lifestyle so he is coming back to the UK and we are the only ones prepared to smash the wage bill to get him..

Nothing against the lad but it's weird on so many levels

My guess is this......he still has a desire to play at the highest level, attractive financial package for the him, none of the 'top' teams want him, others teams can't afford him.

Personally I think he would be an excellent signing.

Don't think anyone really gives a toss what he did in the mls. He obviously didn't enjoy it from day one and wanted to come home to a league he has great success in. Delighted to have him and you can all now go and follow Toronto instead
