How can you count Gazza, he came through your youth team, Waddle was unknown from Tow Law
and Owen was a disaster

I didn't say any of them were any good! I was just talking about in terms of names. We flogged a shit load of merchandise off the back of Owen and the increased profile. Defoe on a smaller scale might bring in some Toronto fans.

I think he's a good signing, good finisher and probably worth 6-10 goals for you

I said it before and I say it again
fuck off

We do not have an endless pot of money - that's why his wages matter.
Has Ellis been on the phone & told you or we just guessing. We've got rid of Altidore off wage list so like I said if he scores & keeps us up what does it matter as long as the club know what there doing.

Can someone please put up that tweet where Fishpaste said upon the singing of altidore something along the lines of "bony for 13m shows what good business altidore for 6 was"

They've just sold bony for 27 mil and we're hoying away jozy

Can't believe loads people moaning about how much wages he's on. Christ man ha'way, it's not our money, Short is sensible enough and if he scores enough goals to kick start our season he would be well worth the money. If he doesn't we can moan then......
So all you doubters please stuck the fcuk up
They can't mate. They'll chew on about anything. Probably the last to the bar anarl the tight *****.

Will only be worth it if Poyet actually plays him up top and we play a style that will see the ball moved forwards.
If poyet in Defoes 1st game just sits back and plays for a draw I will be most annoyes

Don't understand people saying this. We struggle to score goals so are signing a proven premier league goalscorer in replacement of the worst player I've ever seen play for us. Don't know what some fans expect.

We barely create any chances ffs. The likes of Costa and Aguero would struggle to score goals under the way Poyet has the team playing at the minute.

Paying a 32 year old a rumoured £80k a week on a three and a half year contract is also a huge financial risk for the club.

Fletcher has a similar recent prem league record.
so we are adding to one who can be capable. It seems alot of money, but when you break it down, its not that bad.

And fletcher cost £12m plus 40k a week for 4 years? thats a £21m deal right there...

I don't know when football fans became accountants and administrators. I'm a football fan, I want my team to do well, I will leave the business side to those getting paid to do their job. It's a simplistic view, maybe a naive view but I support my football team, the rest Im not really interested in.

I like how Congers is going for English players or players who are used to the premier league. Defoe has bags of experience. He's much less a risk than going for some unknown from a foreign league who has never scored a premier league goal before.
