Defoe

Firstly, ive got no idea if this Defoe deal will work out on the pitch, like all deals none of us do.

However, i would commend Congo for some "Out of the Box Thinking".
He's wheeled and dealed to get a wage off our books that was sadly providing very little. He's pretty much maximised that player's value given the circumstances. He's brought in a player against that value so apart from a bit extra money the true cost has been minimised.

As i said, i don't know if it will work, the scouting and checks are down to him too. What i will credit him for is giving us another roll of the dice for a new player to hit the ground running. Apart from the scouting he can do no more.
If Congerton can keep on putting bullets in the gun, then sooner or later they will fire.

Credit to Congo (on this deal).

Give me a proven premier league player of class like Defoe ahead of ne'er do wells and nobodies like the likes of Alcaraz, Buckley, Gomez, Altidore and all the other half assed muppets who have darkened the stadium over the last few years. We've done well out of O'Shea and Brown, the last two aged but class players that we got through the doors.

Aye it might be a bit much and the deal might be too long but who knows. and tbf I couldnt give a shit. If we go down this year that might be five years out of the PL and we cant afford that, thats for sure.

Just on the radio in Ireland that he has signed 3.5 yr deal on 70grand a week deal. . So therefore we are paying 20k a week more to have him than jozy. Cracking Deal

It's why I've never been too worried with being stuck with jozy, we always had Mls to bail us out with him, the fact we got a decent proven goal scorer for a bit more wages is a mega bonus.

I don't get why the wages are being included in the transfer fee, when does that ever happen? If it's £14million WITH wages then that must only be around £3-4million in actual fee to Toronto, given it's a 3 year contract.
