Defoe

Problem is the teams he's played for have always provided quality service at their respective levels. If our midfield who's made every striker we've had the last 2 years look like shit, you bet defoe won't be something out of the ordinary. Note he was also prone to injury in TFC.

The Pompey team who were relegated? The perennially relegation-threatened West Ham?

We're swapping one of the worst strikers in Premier League history for one of the best and people are moaning
This is what i can't get my head around. Not so much the moaning but the fact the deal looks likely to happen, were unbelievably lucky that A) Jozy is American and B) the Toronto owners / manager are as thick as mince.

toronto's forum has some interesting stuff. seems we might have swopped + cash? seems unlikely.
they seem happy to be rid of defoe and his dodgy groin.
some newcassel halfwits also posting usual crap.

A lot of my posting is generally neutral or positive. I've got opinions and they're as valid as yours. Just because you choose to always see things positively it doesn't mean that those of us who prefer to take a more critical view of things shouldn't air our views. It's hard to argue that the club have made a success of things since our last promotion.....yes, we're still there but it's largely been down to a bounce factor generated by sacking the manager each year. All we want to see is the club making better decisions on managerial appointments and player recruitment and I doubt even you would argue that we've been successful at those aspects these last few years.
Fair do's, I accept and agree with all of that.
