To be fair, he pre-empted all the media furore, said he wasn't claiming to be itk and stated where the info was from.

Credit where it's due surely, even if he doesn't sign?

Oh, I think there is no doubt that part of the problem is "lack of service." Which is why Poyet is most likely going to have to at least tweak his system. If he doesn't, I am not sure how Defoe does much better. He's a better goal scorer than Wickham and Altidore for sure but still...

He started this thread last night when the speculation was rife. There's no mate, no contact and no info. He's just taken a punt and hoped for the best. No credit at all, I could have done it if I was a loser like him.

80k for a 32 year old would always been an issue to most. Given some of our players wages and their performance, it's not that bad.

Well when I read it yesterday I couldn't find anything in the press, so I wrote the op off as a shitehawk. Maybe I didn't look hard enough.

I'd have Giaccherini lm, Cattermole and larsson middle, Johnson rm. Defoe and Fletcher up front. Certainly at home against the lesser teams. The games we have to win.

Money talks and is showing it does through apparent 80k a week, if we offered him that or similar, presumably more than he's on currently, while writing off any potential remaining debt Villa have with us, if they do, and at the same time making a relegation contender around us worse, seems to make sense to me at least offering or approaching
 
Its a final poke in the eye for borini showing the club are finally over him after a summer where he wouldn't come to us. We have real class in Defoe and we are paying the wages for it. If it all comes off that is.
 
A lot of poster will have red faces today and should be man enough to apologise to the Op. Always dangerous posting transfer info as could easily have gone the other way if terms where not agreed. Talksport saying 3.5 year deal which is what may have sealed the deal.
