Signing Defoe must represent a change in formation; and if it does it could be excellent. If not, it'd be fairly pointless.

You'd think so, I'm not sure Poyet would switch to a straight 4-4-2 though. Maybe 4-3-1-2, Wickham/Fletcher up front with Defoe and Giaccherini/Johnson/Alvarez behind?

Well this is an odd signing. Any chance he'll play against spurs?

I never liked Defoe due to the arm breaking of Gordon...but I suppose its been a while

Only splitting he would envoke is the sides of the opposition defenders as their giggling grows uncontrollable.

As usual the club can't do right for doing wrong.
I'm expecting messrs Noggin, Hughbert, RichD, to have penned drafts of their posts in the expectation we get beat and Defoe as a stinker
