What the fuck are you talking about?

six 0-0s, how many other draws?

he hasn't been a problem, we can't score, that is why we are 16th man ffs. not rocket science.
We've kept so many draws due to the fantastic form of John O'Shea, who looks to be getting better with age. Brown on the other hand is doing the opposite!

Take O'Shea out of that defence and we'd have lost at least half of those games.

do you two mind ? I'm trying to knock one out ffs

Its just the wages mate. Rumours are we are getting a fee for Altidore as part of the exchange and when you factor in Jozy's wages, it actually looks quite cheap. £80,000 per week for 3 and half years = £14m but if you knock off Jozy's wages it will be more like £8m over the three years minus whatever fee we are getting. Might be as low as £6m all in which would effectively put the extra over cost to us at £35,000 per week. Apparently Whickham is now on way more than that.

Other rumours say its Jozy plus cash for Defoe.

even though we play one upfront, I dont think our system is necessarily designed for a big striker.

Yes, with Defoe instead of Wickham or Fletcher it will give Pants less to aim at, but Gus says he prefers passing football than that kind of physical style. I know we are far from comparable, but plenty of top teams play one up front with a short striker, look at Aguero at Man City for example.

Defoe will be better at springing offside traps/making runs onto throughballs than our current options, which is how we should theoretically be set up with our inverted wingers & overlapping fullbacks... especially if we got a creative CM.

Although he's good playing off a target man, I actually think he would fit into our system surprisingly well
Through balls, when's the last time you seen us do that?

He's averaged roughly one goal every three games in his career, similar to fletcher. I just can't see him or anyone scoring many goals in poyets 'system'.

Just seen Toronto are going in for Giovinco from Juventus as well, maybe we should get Giach to have a word with him?
