13 days into a transfer window in which we desperately need to act...

Most the players we'll have interest in will have plenty of others interested in them too and they'll know it and will milk it and as usual most business will happen in the last week.

Doesn't matter whether we're linked, not mentioned or we're stupid enough to have it allover the press like we did during the summer when we were chasing Borini. It wont make a jot of difference.

We'll likely still sign someone shite or loan someone - but who you're linked with in the press or whether you're linked at all matters not.
 
Did anybody really think we were going to sign anybody significant this window? It's going exactly as I expected it to, the most we're going to end up with is a loan or some bargain basement signing, neither of which will make any difference to the way we play. Last year we got Alonso, but apart from that I can't think of a January signing genuinely making a difference since Sessegnon, which was 4 years ago now (might be wrong like, but can't remember anybody since).
 
I don't understand why people get upset because we're not linked with people. That's a reflection on tabloids and agents far more than the club itself.

As for signings, has any top flight club signed anyone we could have signed and might have needed that wasn't a big risk?
 
I don't get it this window isn't like the summer where you wait late so you don't have to pay wages over a couple of months while the player is sitting in the beach
 
Probably depends mostly on the selling club, they know they only have a month and SAFC are desperate, the transfer window makes for bad bargaining for the buying clubs.

Edit: The irony that 3 days ago we were bemoaning the lack of action, now we have swapped Jozy for Jermain wont be lost on some. Proves this regime play cards very close to their chest, we are only getting sniffs of deals once they are nearly done. Frustrating as we all love a good rumour thread, but comforting that we seem to be able to get deals over the line without being hijacked.

Well I am sure the OP is delighted? Dozy offloaded and a proven striker brought in!

Still time to send Ralph back and sell/give away Graham then could bring in one or two more
