Ellis in the Championship.

Oh great, yet another reason to make me think your'e an idiot who knows nowt about football.

It was a thread from the game yesterday. I thought Henderson was lacklustre.
I can't remember anything of consequence he did in 90 minutes football. Anyway, that's another subject.

Not really, if he stayed it would be quite straightforward.

I was more interested in how he, or any owner for that matter, would get away from this investment. I'm not sure how he'd go about saying "That's it, I'm off". It's not like rapping a normal job.
How does he go about it?

Predictive:- Extricate.
Aye, sure.

Yes, but what if the people he knows aren't interested in owning the club. I know lot's of businessmen but i wouldn't necessarily want to take on their liabilities and/or mistakes.

As i said, let's forget it's Ellis and take a more global look at the situation. Are you saying the owner would have to take an enormous loss and virtually give the club away? Other than that, to go broke and/or fold. I assume Ellis/the owner currently has enough to cover the loss if he wants to but maybe he might have had enough.
In our case it would appear the rewards for getting promotion back to the PL wouldn't be enough to excite Ellis. He doesn't seem to value our PL status.

I think he values our PL status above all else when it comes to his involvement in the club and there are only 20 PL 'franchises' world wide and there would be a buyer as long as we maintain that status. To think otherwise is mad. We have better infrastructure than a lot of other PL clubs and also have crowds in the top 7 0r 8 in the league. Like I said, he's not daft and he would probably get his money back if he sold us tomorrow.

If we carry on in the same non committal fashion one day the inevitable will happen.
Being the owner, what will Ellis do in the Championship?
His asset will obviously be massively de-valued but what are his options?
Obviously he has the option to hang around. If he wants to bale out though, how does he go about it?

Priority 1 will be to re-sign the ginger.

The ginger could be the pirlo of the championship if given the chance...

In my opinion he doesn't seem to understand what our Premier League status really is. He's never known anything else. In my opinion he takes it lightly.
One day his alarm clock will go off and he'll wake up in the Championship.
Will his heart be in the slog to get back up? Will he be prepared to go all out financially to get back up with no guarantee of success? You've been around long enough to understand how hard promotion is, i don't think Ellis has. Even decent teams fail.
If he thinks he'll be able to stroll around the Championship wearing his Ten Gallon Hat and easily helping himself to the title he's a f**king mug.

I don't believe Ellis would neither pay the fee nor the wages.
Instead of buying Championship players for the Premier League he'd be buying lower league players for the Championship.

Here we go, the man who puts food on the table by working as a bouncer ( I suppose you can get a few quid extra letting drug dealers in no questions asked mind ) decides to tell us how the assets of a self made billionaire should be managed.
Priceless piffle

Don't tell me that's spelt wrong as well.
Not really a word i come across in my circle of friends, so you'd probably be more familiar with it than me.
You don't come across it in your circle of friends but you think 6.3 billionaire Ellis Short does ?

It's a serious thread and we obviously have to be very wary of what could happen.
He's the owner so he can't sack himself.

Basically, how can he extrapolate himself from the club and what if there was no buyers?
You are correct he clearly needs an extrapolation plan.

If he does want to get out and I've got no idea if that's the case he has two options, longer term or shorter term. One is running the club the way Ashley does with Newcastle and treat it purely as a business.....but that's only possible due to having Graham Carr working for them.......or do whatever it takes to keep us up this season and sell as a going PL concern. We will be just about worthless given our debt as a Championship club.

Is that 6ft 3in Ellis Short or £6.3bn Ellis Short?

Still haven't worked it out myself, it's what piston himself referred to him as earlier in the thread.
