I would dismiss this as utter shite if it was any other premier league team.
They appointed joe f***ing kinnear for God sake they are a special bunch, out can happen
 
As utterly batshit mental as this sounds we have to factor in the Ashley Logic that is

He will want s yes man puppet
Whose desperate enough to be a manager and will abide with whatever fat Mike decides
So that really narrows down the field

Ashley isn't stupid, he knows Newcastle is only worth something to him in the Premier League. He will appoint a safe, boring pair of hands to keep them kicking around midtable without a worry of relegation or getting into Europe.

Well that's a bit extreme. If we lost 80-0 off Southampton instead of 8-0 we'd never forgive the players either.
