only thing i would say is that tredwell has to be in the side. on current form you would have to say drop stokes from that team, we know he is a match winner on his day but he looks pretty far off his day at the minute

he clearly has the talent to do well for england, just hasn't really come together in all but a handful of games. another year's seasoning at durham would be no bad thing for all concerned

what defines talent his record is woeful yes when he gets a score he is entertaining but it can be said about anyone the media love to overhype people

when on song he is incredible to watch, he is so destructive, can win matches in a handful of overs and has ability with bat and ball. few players can counter attack with his fluency and outright power and seeing how he stood up to australia in a way no other player did over the entire series over there shows he has the grit and determination to go with his ability. honestly if you cant see his talent im not sure how much you must watch durham.

his record is disappointing but CLS players are generally like that, collingwood is a good example of someone whose record in county matches belies how well he did in test cricket. then again rampakash is an example of someone at the other end of the stick - all the talent in the world is no guarantee you will succeed, as you often see with any players moving from domestic to international or even club to club.

every player has talent then he rarely has shown it and certainly not on a consistant basis for england

i agree about england obviously and i do think he needs one really special season for durham, he was put into teh england side i think one year too early but he is good enough to be on the radar just needs to string a few good performances together to get his confidence up so he knows he belongs in the test arena
 
They're playing him in a bowlers position and he's not good enough for ODI's as purely a bowler.
