Fighting in Kobane.

The biggest problem i can think of is guns. You're definitely going to need guns. How are you going to get them through the airport? Or are you just hoping to pick some up from lost property when you get there? There's no way you can fight with a bic razor, a can of Lynx and 200ml of toothpaste.

really I would've thought it would be parking I've seen pics and it looks a bit restrictive as far as safe parking goes

Interesting topic despite the OPs rant. I'm sure there will be a fair few out there who fit into one of the following areas:

1. Never had military experience other than Call of Duty on the PS3/XBox but believe this is the perfect time to test their controller skills.

2. Nutters who were kicked out of the Forces due to their mental state who believe they are the next Rambo.

3. Ex-Military who love to test themselves and miss the military life and now that Afghanistan is finished they will look elsewhere to get their kicks.

And consequently will be looking to get out there. I note a number of photographs in today's press regarding Brits fighting the IS. I'm sure there will be more.

This fucker has got to be charged up like Tony Montana
Amazing stuff. I clearly knew that there were one or two lads on here who werent the full shilling but this is a story and a half. Imagine ringing up The Home Office and asking if it was ok?

Doesnt surprise me that he cant get through to the right person mind - thats the civil service for you!

I'm not following him, he doesn't know his arse from his elbow. The closest passport office is Durham.

*EDIT* Or is he so cunning he's already threw MI5 off his trail?

"There comes a time when a man must stand and be counted. I'm going to defend Europe WITH MY LIFE."

(some time later)

"Yes, I'll hold.

*mumbles*

This is ridiculous. If I have to listen to f***ing Greensleeves one more time."

(more time passes)

"No, YOU listen. I have been on hold for 48 minutes. Put be through to Kofi Annan immediately, the safety of Europe depen... Hello? HELLO?!"

(the next day)

"There comes a time when a man must stand and be counted. I'm going to write an ANGRY POST ON THE SMB."

Despite my earlier flippant remark, I feel I should offer the OP some sage advice. There's a passport office in Durham marra. Get yourself something nice to eat as well before you get fed camel burger.

Not if he lives in Cambridge.

You need to work on your reconnaissance lad, these assumptions will get you killed.
You need to work on not being a grass, no torture was involved there and you spilled your guts on where he lives. Toughen up you pussy.
*I said the bold bit in this fellas voice*

This is no a joke.
5 days ago I contacted our British Home Office to enquire about their/our policy of myself travelling and joining the fight against (the lazily named ISIS) and would this entail me being registered as a politically motivated person or potential terrorist. Apart from the first contact (02070354848) repeatedly telling me I had to phone "the Home Office" and this not being his department, but then finally admitting (at 1503 on a Sunday afternoon 24/11/2-14) that yes he had been sleeping in his office and I had both awoken AND annoyed him...I still had to phone the Home Office. Despite me repeatedly saying this was THE ONLY LISTED Home Office phone number, he ended up saying "Fuck off nutter" and hanging up. Is this is our foreign policy, no doubt influenced by American led policy and Russia phobic reactionaries?
In the last week I have spoken to no less than 7 individuals, all of whom have advised this is not their department/someone will phone me back. No one has rung me back.
I fervently believe that to allow an evil such as ISL to exist, much less embed itself in European borders, is as short sighted and free thinking as Russian aggression in Ukraine is as innocent as Hitler's expansion into "lebensraum."
I care not if you share my political views. But for our government to both threaten me as a potential terrorist, and yet to also wholly refuse to advise me if my actions are acceptable/unacceptable is ridiculous.
If you care about free speech and free religious expression...please support me. I will be travelling to Turkey with an open and obvious identity of fighting ISIS/ISl etc. and of supporting the resident Kurdish population of Kobane. I ask you to research Muslim minorities, they are not all suicide bombers, research the Pesh Merga, who, if I am suitable, I hope to fight alongside, I am not, and never will be a threat to England and Britain. I am white, working class and a bit fat, I am not an uber warrior. I am...simply...a man prepared to die for his beliefs. I expect my journey will meet with extreme antagonism from the Turkish Government and massive logistical problems for the somewhat isolated Kurdish forces. My beliefs and (hopefully not final) actions are based purely upon the complete resistance to an overwhelming religion corrupting movement. As a devout Norse, I am happy to fight, and if necessary die, for the rest of you guys on here, don't knee jerk, bed wet or happy clappy...and if I do get killed doing this then think of me as a happy idiot. Not a religious warrior.
Apparently my borther has a local media comapany filming this but I have set off now but need new assprt in Peterborough.

I think the Home Office subcontract all their armed foreign policy to HM Armed Forces or some locally based proxy militia. Not sure they will have a dept or policy with regards to freelancers/self employed.
