NUFC fans levels of expectation

And you lot reckon we are deluded.
Deluded doesn't come into it. You and yours actually 'expect' while we do and always have lived in hope. When we have poor times we kind of expect it, while you seem indignant at the unfairness that your really not a top club at all. We're average, but we know we are, your average, but can't really grasp the concept. We follow our club in hope and love them whatever happens. You lads seem to follow yours 'Expecting' things to happen because of who or what you think you are. You are really not seen as anything other than a mid-table side by anyone outside your own domain, as are we. We however understand that.

Judging by the articles in today's Sunday sun its no wonder their expectations are high. 'Ex toon ace ginola - United should be one of the best teams in the land' & srnicek - 'a top six spot is not beyond the magpies'

The media feed them shit like this and it becomes embedded in their psyche.

Seen a couple of things over the past few weeks on social networking sites posted by Mags saying they have made some amazing signings and have high expectations for this season. This was further evidenced when my Mag father in law was watching the Arsenal match and was cheering Palace on. I asked why he wanted Palace to win and he said cause he viewed Arsenal as a rival to NUFC this season. Based on their squad, goals they've lost with Remy going back to QPR I would have put them in mid table at best or have I missed something that would suggest they could be challenging the top 4?

Been sitting with one this week and he's looked at them and been positive about the signings- not the delusional these a world beaters but how they might work what they look like , what they have done. It was slightly different to reading some of the shit so-called Sunderland fans were writing on here about the club, the signings and their fellow supporters.

You have disgraced yourself by marrying into a Mag family.
Your father in law is senile.
Perhaps he feels Arsenal will finish between 5th-12th, in which case come on Palace.
He was joking because he knows how easy it is to wind up his sensitive Mackem son in law.
You're lying.

At least one of these points are fact!
He's not intelligent enough to be a WUM bit like yourself

Exactly this. What logic dictates that NUFC should be one of the 'Best teams in the land'? What is the reasoning I wonder behind his top 6 spot nonsense? They seem to feed and be fed by a cock-eyed media love in, despite winning nothing since Moncur lifted the Fairs Cup in 1967, are a club that 'deserve' something. You get what you deserve as they have proved. You earn the right to be at the top.

Anyone seen the ginola piece in the sun?
He says skunks should be one of the best teams in the land!!!!

Why?
Why them more than any other team???

How do you bump into these people lol
I stay away from the black and white basterds

10 consecutive defeats against Man City, and they haven't beaten for 15 games. Amazed if that horrifying form alters today.

They attract over 50k fans so think they should be in the top 4.
According to the Mag Rag the Sun, they once had a 20,000 waiting list but for today's game you could buy a ticket almost anywhere in the ground 48 hours ago and they are worried they may only get 40,000 for their next home game to Palace. Obviously a lot don't believe this hype !!!

Do you seriously consider yourself as a mid table club ? If so why ?

I read yesterday one of them saying 'we're about 6 players off winning the league!' I couldn't stop laughing. i'll try and find it and post it up

The ones I know are very aware of their current scenario. I don't know any that think mid table (or generally below) is what they think they'll achieve. One is adamant its a relegation fight all the way. Shit manager with same shit defence. No 14 goal striker (Remy) being the common concensus.
