Durham vs Notts - 12th August

Bunny having scan on side tomorrow morning.

Hopefully it'll just be a case of checking to make sure it's nothing serious. Although he hasn't been at his best this season, he's still the leader of the bowling attack and we can't afford another injury with some big games coming up.

Durham now 98/2 from 24 overs with Stoneman (45) and Stokes (41) both looking well set.

We require another 125 from 26 overs (just under 5 per over). Plenty of batting to come so can't see us messing up here.

Could do with getting a move on as nett run rate could come into play. Notts is better than ours at the moment but this could bring theirs down and boost ours up if we can get the runs early.

Somerset look like they are going to lose to Glamorgan which is good news for us. If we can win this game we could scrape into the quarters by winning our last match.

We win with 4 and half overs to spare and have gone into third place. Others have games in hand but Somerset are losing at the moment and if we win the last game we should make the quarter finals.

Watching Surrey on Sky just now they're going through the motions, half arsed and utterly shite bowling and fielding.

Durham (should) beat them on Thursday with 50% effort going by this.

Managed to get to the game today, to be honest Notts where quite poor, although they had a few key players missing. Coughlin was impressive with the ball as was Borthwick and Hastings. Notts where a good 50 runs short and once Stoneman and Stokes got together and played excellent controlled innings it made it an easy win for Durham. When Stokes bats like he did today he really is a class act.

great to see borthwick not only bowl well but bowl a lot of overs and have great success. 41 off 10 overs is great going in a one day game, albeit on a slow pitch. coughlin is very promising too. with stokes quite possibly away [with england] and onions fitness becoming more and more of an issue - probably no chance of hastings coming back either it would be great if coughlin can step up to take wickets and score runs. bit worried about borthwick's contract status, hope he gets brought back.

Just back....

Very good performance by Durham, but that's the coldest I've ever been sat up top on the County Durham Stand, absolutely Baltic with that wind.

Hastings impressed me with his bowling today.

Stokes, Stoneman outstanding with the bat.

If Gurney is England class then we all have hope.

I didn't realise one of the selectors was coach at Notts.......... probably explains why Gurney is playing for England

Spoke to Stokes after the game, he won't be involved on Thursday, heading to meet up with England tonight. He does expect to be meeting up with the Durham team in Manchester though.

Gurney was very ordinary, as where the rest of their seamers. I think he got selected on the back of a couple of good televised matches last season and the fact that he bowls left arm over which apparently England needed.

i can't help but think it is very poor to have selectors who work at clubs. yes i can see why it may be advantageous to have them in such close qurters with players and their jobs are not the most full time of positions but perhaps just have one selector who spends equal time at every county but has no connection to any one particular county so he can have an objective eye. seems daft to me.

Gurneys figures have been poor this last 6 weeks across all formats.

However before that his bowling has been excellent for the last 18 months.

McLeod has dropped badly out of form

I thought he was unlucky with his decision yesterday. He's a useful cricketer and his fielding is good as well

Anyone know what the craic is with DL at the Kent match? Sussex behind the run rate and 2 wickets down.

Doesn't matter, play has restarted.
