Blood him against the Indians....get him back in the fold. Confidence up against ordinary batting...win/win!

I'd play him like.

Stokes and Finn back in for Jordan and Woakes, although I wouldn't be shocked to see them keep the same side

I think you might be right, I think Finn still has far more potential than him or Jordan though.

Without doubt mate, I'd play Stokes and Finn this game, just think they will keep Woakes in for his control and possible swing.

Jordan can't play, he's a one day player IMO.

Finn for Jordan will be the only change IMO, as much as I'd love to see Stokes back in. Is Stokes available to play for us on Tuesday at Sussex??

Should imagine the England squad will report to O.T. on Tuesday evening at the latest so neither Stokes nor Jordan will play at Sussex. Hopefully Ben will be available v Glamorgan on Friday.

here is a scenario. finn runs in clips the bails off and the umpire signals no ball. the new law brought in. could england appeal for a run out and if the player was backing up, then the laws of the game, he has to walk. just in the spirit of sri lanka like

Same as the Sri Lanka decision. Stay in your ground is the solution.

true. since they made it a no ball rather than a dead ball, i would have no problem if teams appealled for run outs though

Fair enough if we were still playing Sri Lanka, I wouldn't try it against India unless Jadeja's getting a bit frisky ;)

Finn usually kicks the stumps rather than hit with his hand I thought? I think Stokes does it fairly often.

its war now. theylike to play literally to the laws, so if were me, i would be looking al lthe time for an opportunity.

Does clipping the stumps with your knee constitute fairly putting down the wicket?

Woakes deserves his place in front of Stokes to be fair.

Finn for Jordan is the obvious change, glad to see the big lad is back in form.

Why? Woakes bowled ok in the last test but didn't take any wickets, Stokes bowled better than Broad and Anderson in the game England lost and took wickets.
Rightly or wrongly England want their number 8 to score runs, and Stokes is a walking wicket. Don't think they fully trust Stokes' bowling either, England like containing bowlers and Stokes can go for runs at times.

ththat would be a no ball, but you could not appeal for a run out
As the bails have been disturbed, he'd have to pull one of the stumps out the ground while still holding the ball. And since a no-ball can't be called until the ball has been released; this scenario is virtually impossible.
