1. If you refused to go to the game because it was played all of 20 minutes away from where DCCC normally play you can not honestly class yourself as a DCCC fan.
4. DCCC were more than generous in giving up a home fixture to SNCC to allow them to celebrate their 150th anniversary and I hope that in future the county show the same good will to other clubs in the North East that reach milestones in their history (cue beggars telling me how old their clubs are but are yet to host a DCCC game)
2. Anyone saying that that aren't against out grounds but are when they are played in N'land are pathetic for getting too caught up in local footballing rivalries. DCCC is the North East's only professional cricket outfit, they are therefore the 'local team' for those that live in Newcastle (situated in the NORTH EAST). You're also daft for saying games should be played at Stockton CC or Sunderland CC. One is further away from DCCC and more of a hassle to travel too than South North was, the other has one of the worst wickets and playing outfield in the NEPL this season - not worthy of first class cricket.
3. People that boycotted travelling to South North because of travel charges or seat hire costs are wrong - both of these money raising exercises were put in place by DCCC, before you criticise SNCC make sure to check where your facts are coming from - a lot of people getting their accusations wrong.

5. DCCC would expect 2,000 through the gate for an all day 50 over game at the Riverside on a Thursday; They got 1,750 into SNCC. DCCC would expect 100 into hospitality for the day for a game like this at the Riverside; They filled the indoor school with 450 people. The close proximity of fans to the pitch side and busy-ness of the ground made it look a lot better than the same game would have looked at the Riverside with a sparse crowd and people more than 100 metres away from any action. For me these numbers show that it was a success and justify the decision of DCCC to allow a game to move away from the Riverside.
6. Speaking to players after the game not one of them had a bad word to say about the day, the ground, the wicket or the fact that the game was played away from the Riverside - in fact many (Stoneman, Breese, Jennings, Muchall, Mustard and Collingwood - just the ones I spoke too) all said it was a fantastic day and they thoroughly enjoyed it. If the players are for out grounds, the fans should be too.
Finally, I hope that anyone that did come to the game, be it with reservations or not, had a fantastic day and recognised the effort that was made by SNCC staff (as well as DCCC staff) to host the game and making it a spectacle for all in attendance. I am all for out grounds being used by counties wherever they are in the region, and I hope that the success of the RL50 match at SNCC leads to DCCC using more out grounds in future.
