i think he will be off to swansea if liverpool go for bony now the remy deal is off.

If he holds out for a bigger and better club then fair enough. If he ends up somewhere like Swansea this place will need to be avoided for a while!
That's my point - we have a deal in place, he is waiting for a CL club. if no CL club comes along, he will sign for us. we would not have gone public about a bid unless we had spoken with him/his agent and had some sort of encouragement/agreement.

Anyone can make a bid - we could bid £300M for Ronaldo, it could get accepted but the transfer would (obviously) never happen and we wouldn't go public with it unless we knew he was interested.

it went public at the Liverpool end though not ours

How many players have delivered for us as often as he did ?
Apart from scoring a couple of pens (key goals I know but gardner could even take pens) and the odd goal (WBA and the cup final), I don't think he delivered that much personally. His work ethic is his best asset.

The way people are going on you'd have thought he banged in 30 in a season like Phillips did. Now that's delivering the goods. Borini's a good player but no where near as good as some are making out.

Doubt that - he's stalling for a CL club. If it gets to deadline day and there are no offers he will come here.
heard it last week but didnt see it happening with remy going there but given that deal is now dead and monk came out talking up the price for bony i think it could happen.

why on earth does Borini think a CL club would come in for him, if indeed he does, we are his level.
I think its due to him being always permanently on the books of CL standard clubs in Chelsea, Roma and Liverpool during his career.

Apart from one season at Roma though he's never played at them, and that says a lot for me. If he was good enough he'd have got more games, he needs to manage his own expectations.

Edit: If its true hes not keen we should have dropped any interest by now
Even if we got him, which I doubt, he'd want to be away after one good season as well. I don't think we could build long term plans with him as he'll be angling for a move.

noone in Italy would pay the money he gets in England man.
if you believe modern day players play for honours over money you need help.
Massively over simplistic, if that was the case how come Pirlo etc have spent their entire careers in Italy? Or more of the top players aren't out in the middle east with Gyan?

Young, sensible players with talent like Borini will look to play where they have the best chance of making a career. Money will obviously be a large influence but its not the only one/.
