Borini

SSN is reporting that the Remy transfer has broken down because of Borini's "refusal" to transfer to Sunderland. That is really going to endear him to the Liverpool Faithful...... there may be trouble ahead ......

They said that's what Remy's camp are saying.

They'll not want other potential suitors put off by this so blaming Borini is the perfect excuse.

Couldn't resist. That will be my last ever set of fake tweets. If anyone bites, they need to read the white text. And look at who has posted them
Wouldn't usually bother commenting on this type of shit, but christ, this has got me cringing.

I honestly think you must have sat all day, alone, and thought 'what could i do that will get me attention and some sort of warped reputation on an internet message board, where i know no one'.

And you came up with this, and had no second thoughts about posting it. Genuinely worrying.

I think calling him a dick or something would've sufficed but yet again you've taken it too far.

Poyet has also refused to give up on Borini. The Italian has returned from Liverpool’s pre-season trip to America because of an injury and Sunderland will push him for a final decision with the aim of completing the deal before the end of the week.

Not sure about the Remy transfer breaking down but the rest I can completely believe. I think Borini has been blocking the move from the start. If it is true then Borini is an egotistical idiot. A classic case of a player thinking he is way better than he is. Bendtner-like.

Liverpool fans are right to be irritated. 14 million for Borini? That's a great deal for them.

Lol...FFS Poyet! Not only are you overpaying a fuck-ton but now you are pressing on for an injured overpriced player? Great negotiating tactics that. Fucks sake.

Give him a deadline and if he hasn't mad this mind up by then.....move on

Simple as that, plenty of players out there

Regarding Yank's comments above. During his time with us I can't recall Borini ever speaking positively when it came to his views on a permanent move. Hasn't he always maintained that his intention was to return and fight for his place at Liverpool?

That's all I can remember him ever saying. Which is fine. It's honest and up front. Good qualities I think. However, now that it is apparent that he is not in Liverpool's plans (because he simply isn't good enough in their opinion) and another PL team has shown him great respect by offering so much money for him, you'd think he'd take that offer and come out blazing to prove he was good enough. As it stands he already thinks he is good enough. In his mind, too good for the likes of Sunderland it seems. That's the way this whole thing appears anyway.

Not a bad thing to have confidence in yourself, and he's giving it one last go at a club in the champions league he might not get the chance to play for a club as big as Liverpool again even if he does well for us.

I still think there's a good chance we'll sign him and Poyet must do or we would have moved on, sadly good players wont see us as their first destination and it's gonna require patience to get them.

I'm surprised we bid so much for him in the first place. Not one jot of encouragement from him during his time here and everything pointing to us looking to play him out of position . Something that hasn't really been mentioned as a factor in his refusal to come here by the way. Work rate aside, in the position he was deployed he wasn't massively effective in terms of being someone talented enough to drag us up a level or two. He's a poacher in my view, so why would he be gagging to come here to be charged with tracking back to support his full back? Left to me I'd be looking to spend the money on a centre half and a left sided attacking midfielder.

Tbf to him he probably sees us as fighting relegation year in, year out. Can't really blame him either.

You and me both. In terms of the LM/winger, I thought Christian Atsu might be worth looking into as apparently Chelsea were/are considering loaning him at least. Having said that I have no idea what he would cost.

Its taken Liverpool 3 weeks to get a decision from that Origi kid from Lille. They finally got their man with a bit patience.

Borini doesnt have any other suitors than us right now, he's not wanted by his own club and will be slowly coming round to the fact that if he wants to play football of any standard he has to move here.

He'll be ours in a few days.

I just wish we'd either sign him or pull out.

This lingering around is doing no-one any good. We should start to look towards other targets.

I'm no expert on players, but i'm sure for the Borini money we could get a decent striker in.

Most other summers you'd be right, but not this year! Just look at the fees going round!

Not only that, who can we realistically get, that would come here, who knows the premier league, is proven, plays in the same style as Borini, and would suit Poyet's style? I've thought we should move on as well but have had a hard time working out exactly who we should target next. The Borini situation is frustrating, but I expect there's SO much more to this than we know about, in fact I'm certain there is, the club won't have bid £14M if there was no indication he'd come, the player would have said no already, or we'd have confirmation from proper reliable sources that he's said no, Poyet and Rodgers wouldn't say it's on going and they expect a deal to be done, Rodgers wouldn't have said that Borini had a slight bruise but then a few days later give him the whole tour off and allow him to go back to England if it was a simple bruise, it might well be that his shoulder is fucked? Or more likely we are close to a deal?
