Surely the club wouldn't have made a bid if they knew borini was not interested in coming,

Considering he was here last season and there must have been talks between him and poyet, I'm 99% sure the club knew what the situation is.

Hope they are 100% either way

Liverpool fan in peace. I personally can see Borrini going to Sunderland. This is the third preseason Brendan Rodgers has been in charge and each of them he has brought players on tour who had a fee agreed. I dont know why he does but he does.

First season it was Carroll and Adam. Last season Downing. This season Borrini. I think the papers see him boarding a plane and add 2 plus 2 and get 700.

Hopefully ye do get him as I like him but hes obviously not in Brendans reckoning even though he was his very first signing.

we all hope he still comes mate

Do people really think we would make a bid without knowing he would want to come or not? This place is special sometimes.

Why should anyone think otherwise?

It's not like we haven't publicly agreed fees with players before and they didn't want to come/agree personal terms. Plus, negotiating with a player prior to a bid being accepted is tapping them up.

While we're all waiting and quite obviously just hanging around on football forums all day mashing F5, here's a little tune for us all to enjoy.

Why not? I am sure it happens. Players vacillate and/or are not always completely honest about what they want after all. I could easily see Borini, in an effort to not burn bridges or offend, say he would be happy to make a move to Sunderland when privately he might not really feel that way. Especially if he thinks there isn't much of a realistic chance of it happening - of Sunderland coming up with the money.

BTW, the latest rumor on goal.com is that Borini has 'snubbed' Sunderland. Source is someone named Gianluca di Marzio - whoever that is.
