Yep, you do get the feeling safc are the 'nice guys' of transfers. Always obeying the rules, doing it right.

'Arry would have had borini spoke to weeks ago and tapped up in a nice little bow prior to club making official bid

 Aye, that's why we got fined 100 grand for using an unlicensed agent.

And West Ham threatened to grass us for tapping up Demba Ba.

I hope Gus gives him and his agent a deadline - so we can move on to other avenues should he not want to come.

I also hope that amidst all this furore, Gus hasn't took his eye off the ball as there are other positions that need filling ASAP!!

..I hope they are right .. but once again we have a fookin protracted saga .. still one plus side, at least it's not fookn Levy ..

"The Echo understands that there is NO substance to reports emerging from Italy on Saturday night that Borini had “rejected” Sunderland’s advances.
"

If he does not want the move I think his agent will have informed Congerton by now. However, I believe his agent and Congerton will be meeting over the next few days, I think an agreement will be reached and he will be back with us to fly out to Portugal. It often takes around a week to sort terms on deals like this after a fee has been agreed. I really do think he will sign.
He's not obliged to.

I suspect his agent will be trying to find a 'top' club for him, with great haste.

Gus Poyet confident of signing Fabio Borini for £14million, with Sunderland boss willing to fly Liverpool forward back from America
  • Fabio Borini travels to United States with Liverpool amid transfer saga
  • Sunderland manager Gus Poyet is willing to fly Borini back from America to join up with Black Cats training camp in Portugal
  • Borini wants to keep options open in case Champions League club from abroad match agreed £14milion fee
  • 23-year-old scored 10 goals on loan at Sunderland last season
  • Poyet confirms 'we have agreed terms with Liverpool' to make deal

Why can't people understand he's still employed by Liverpool he has to go! He can't just duff it what happens if he can't agree terms he's stuck in England and missed pre season games

A lot of people clutching at straws, here.

A fee has been agreed. Why on earth have Sunderland not then demanded he doesn't travel with the squad? It's unlikely Liverpool would oppose to that. That suggests to me that it is Borini who isn't particularly keen on the move.

Fair enough if he is assessing other options, and for what it's worth I don't think another club will offer £14m. However, the longer we wait the more disruption it causes our plans for the new season, especially if we wait and wait and he ultimately doesn't end up signing.

Time to move on to other options imo.
