Borini

Who's to say there isn't more in the kitty to spend?
Many of the games he 'went' missing every fucker else did also he was supplied by the likes or colback last season who didn't have the balls to pick out his runs etc.
If Borini turned up every game he'd be off to a top top team. It's down to Gus to unlock this.

If he turns up every game and gets 25 league goals like Darren Bent did, ill hold my hands up and admit I was wrong.

Nothing against the lad at all, I just think we're being blinded by the fact he got 2/3 important goals for us.

Proven in the PL. Proven he can play in our system. Great attitude, grafts and is young. 14m, even if it ends up being that fee, isn't too much at all

The club are happy to pay it so why worry ? Were getting a player who's proven to be good for us so I can't imagine any Sunderland fan would grumble at the fee, even the wannabe club accountants amongst us...

As it stands today I feel like we've been absolutely done, he scored 7 (?) goals some were penalties. But I'll reconsider that when the window is shut and I can compare against what will likely to be other expensive looking deals.
10, best player in a struggling team, cheer up ffs

Who on earth is going to get 25 goals? That will never happen again, even Aguero doesn't get 25 league goals

I agree the market is inflated, I just think that as a club who desperately needs 4/5 PL level players, spending £14m on one isn't good business.
If we get alonso for £2.5 as reported and Virgini for the fee of less of a million as reported £13m (not including his add ons as they would be performance and goals related) for the three would be class business as they'd instantly improve the first team, they'd walk into it.

Spot on mate. Fee is irrelevant. Hes a quality player and will fit straight in. He is young and should only improve and may be worth a lot more in a few years time.

Worth every penny.

Compared to 11m for McCormack its a great deal imo.

Decent? Haway man, loads of players are "Decent".

He scored ten goals in a shite team which was in turmoil for too much of the season and did so playing wide. He is an obviously better player now than when Liverpool bought him for £10m two years ago.

He also, despite it meaning nothing too him materially, slogged his guts out for the cause, and did so when it looked lost. Haway back Fabio lad.
Must have scored 4 or 5 penalties in that.

So 1 in 8 in open play isn't particularly impressive. Can't imagine he got too many assists either...I like him, and he's a decent player, but the price is ludicrous.

Local journos are thinking the initial fee is around the £10m mark so if we ever end paying the full £14m to Liverpool it'll been a solid investment.
