I don't believe in resting in peace so Ill just say I hope justice is found, from the people who thought saving a few bob by cutting across what is in effect a warzone to those who shot the plane down. I also hope the families of these guys can eventually find some peace although it's unlikely. Any rivalry between our clubs and supporters is so insignificant compared to the solidarity you feel for a football supporter having the chance of a trip like then having something so completely and outrageously senseless and outright avoidable happen.

Puts football into perspective and any rivalries should be condemned to the locker when something like this happens would be a fitting tribute to see our black and white next to red and white shirts at the bottom of bobbys statue paying tribute to two lads who died doing what they loved

We are all fans and all that separates us is the colours of our shirts.....end of

That's real sad news. RIP lads/lasses our thoughts with your families.
hope the mags do something for them.

RIP John and Liam thoughts are with families and friends of all those affected by this sensless and wasteful act.

We would be wise to remember that such things result from the actions of people who dispise those with whom they live. We should be careful not to be so foolish as to use the word "hate" when we talk of our football rivalry.

This - it's difficult to comprehend how anyone would want to comment on a thread offering condolences on such a tragic event and make anything other than a deeply respectful sentiment.

Terrible and senseless and should bring us a all a little bit closer together - deepest sympathy to all those affected including our black and white brothers.

Sad sad times, two regular guys just doing what they loved which was following the team they loved !

On a personal note I would stand side by side with any black & white if it meant ridding the world of these BASTARDS that are trying to control our way of life.

Not that it'll mean much to all those who are affected I suppose, but my sympathies go out to all

Awful. Horrendous waste of life, poor buggers caught up on a dispute that they had no part in.

Can't imagine what their families must be going through.

What an absolutely awful/incomprehensible thing to happen to two blokes going to watch a football match. What really makes me angry is the lackadaisical attitude of the 'free world' leaders. Not only have two fellas from the north east died in tragic circumstances, but in total 298 people, including 80 kids have lost their lives because some utter scum bags have access to what are 100% 'weapons of mass destruction'. World leaders all seem to be happy enough to go in to what ever country and over throw tyrant regimes these days, well how about showing a response to what is without doubt a mass terrorist attack on innocent civilians from across the globe. Go and show these fuckers that what they have done is totally wrong, no matter what their political stance is - such an upsetting 48 hours.

That's it, they really are. Then to hear on the news that "it may be difficult for teams to go in and examine the wreckage" because of the militant groups???? WTF? Im sorry, but the UK/Belgian/Dutch/German/US/Malaysian inc other governments should be sending their teams over there to examine the site, work out what has happened and go from there. Some rebel groups are not allowing us to carry out this task? Tell them to do one. Is the world really in such a state that we are afraid to go in and do what is right, because we may upset some world leader of a country that has nothing but hatred for the west?

The whole lot f***ing stinks mate, it's a sad sad bloody world we live in man

Ridiculous thing to happen. Weapons that can bring an airliner down, what's the point. Poor lads RIP along with all the others that were taken.

I said on page 8, I think, I was overwhelmed by the response to two of our kind dying. The more I read these posts, I'm bloody humbled. I knew one of the lads who died, not well, but enough to nod acknowledgement and say "alright" to. First class posting by you lads! The hurt of these lads dying, and the rest of the people who died, will fade. The memory of this thread and the messages of strength, I won't forget. And I'm staunch black and white. Total respect to you lads, honestly.
