Borini

Agreed, he's a good player and he will improve Sunderland no doubt (who's great at penalties) but for that price you'd want a guaranteed 10-15 goals per season or a special talent who can do something out of nothing.

I then it's quite similar to our Livermore deal where the selling club know you desperately want him but don't have to sell.
Like I mentioned earlier it's RISING to 14m. If it reaches that stage then Borini will be at a top club shortly after

However, the size of the bid – coupled with the player’s desire to head back to the North East in search of regular football – convinced Liverpool to sell.

Loving that like, fuckin gerrin Fabio. Mind, if that thread where he was in his speedo's is owt to go by, poor fucker won't be able to sit down for a month.
Love that part.

IF it's been accepted as seems to be gathering momentum then I think we're likely to get the deal done. If he didn't want to come we'd already know, if he wanted too much cash we'd already know, there's not a lot of teams likely to match such a big offer having never seen him first hand like we have.

It's not just his undoubted ability and knack of scoring crucial goals that makes him worth the fee. There's also the fact he seems to genuinely like it here, already spent a season with the rest of the team and is absolutely 100% committed to being a success. Would represent a major boost to our summer recruitment drive/enthusiasm levels too.

Also, I think it good to have couple pizannes (Mannone and Borini) here to get Giacherinni settled and playing better... I think he got shell shocked under PDC and never fully settled last year... I think he'll be much more comfortable and better this year...

Really thought after last seasons scary escape somehow that money would be spent early to ensure we stay up.

Yep. He and Giacc seemed to be getting on a good wavelength at times toward the end of the season too. So many benefits to bringing him back. He's also starting as a hero rather than having to earn support.....everyone will be right behind the lad from day one having been so good for us AND (if that report is right) expressed his desire to comeback to Liverpool.
