I see he's making his 2nd comeback for Warks. Do we think he is "done" as far as England are concerned? Irrespective of his medical problems, it appears that he has a weakness against the short ball (Notts were peppering him as soon as he came out to bat) that teams will doubtless target from now on.

He has been an excellent player but I doubt we'll see him at Test level again

He's not worth the risk of another breakdown regardless of how many runs he's scoring.

Must be getting on a bit now as well. What's he's now, 33? 34?
33. You're probably right. Shame though

If you look at his stats over the last couple of years you could see the start of a decline. His average peaked at 66.78 after his 203* against Sri Lanka that followed the 2010-11 Ashes. It had dropped to 50.49 after the 2012 South Africa series and 47.39 by the end of last summer's Ashes. If you look at his stats from that peak onwards he actually averaged 36.30 from 2011-2013.

Top order did OK against SL with the exception of fooking Cook
cook has a hell of lot of work to do in this india series, to show he deserves the captains job. this blip started last summer, the winter, now the first part of this summer

Have him and Moores double teamed your missus or summat?
got my knickers in a twist re moores. dont rate him at all. he has the job now for one reason. a yes man. i like cook and hope he returns form but it needs to be soon

days gone by, no captain would have survived a 5-0 ashes defeat. not one.

Wish Trott all the best, one of our best players in modern times. Some of the responses to his illness in the media were absolutely shocking, especially by Vaughan and Harmy on BBC radio. There are degrees to depression, it isn't black and white, and they weren't qualified to comment on it, but did so anyway. Harmy seemed to think because he had suffered problems before, if anyone didn't have the same issue as him, then it didn't count.

He will never play for England again IMO, massive shame, but hopefully he scores a stack full in county champ

he hardly covered himself in glory with his comments either mind.

Said he was burnt out not depressed and referred to people with depression as nutjobs.

He can gan fuck himself.

Fuck off you caveman, its gone completely over your head hasn't it. He has had to stop twice since.

Said he was burnt out not depressed and referred to people with depression as nutjobs.

Wrong again, another thing Vaughan and Harmy were bringing up that was taken out of context

He wasn't referring to people with depression, he was asked by Ian Ward, who was referring to his pre-ball routine he does every ball, the digging, scratching, sorting his pads out.

People don't want to admit they have depression, it isn't a black or white thing, a lot of people have it to a degree and don't realise it, he has issues and I hope he gets well soon. Attitudes from people like you don't help at all, would never wish it on you, as I think you would be a bit more forgiving, wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

I think Ballance has managed to nail the test no3 spot now so even if England were willing to take a chance on Trott he probably wouldn't get into the side now.
