Durham Cricket League question

DCL teams play in the HLSCL on a Sunday if they want, like Marsden, Burnmoor, Phili etc. To me it's loads better than midweek third team cricket.

Sunday and midweek teams are obviously different

If at team for the sake of argument were in the HLSCL and were playing in a random midweek league then they got promoted into the DCL what midweek and Sunday league would they play in ?

They would play DCL midweek 3rds and HLSCL I think

My take on it is that the DCL has a midweek 3rd team league to play in. Clubs are free to play in the Hetton Lyons sunday league.

The NEPL make it mandatory to field a team in their 3rd team league, so if a side was to be promoted from the Durham Cricket League they would have to either field an additional 3rd team, or move their existing 3rd team from the Hetton Lyons league.

I think the NEPL also has a midweek league which is optional, not aware of one in the Durham League though.

The DCL 3rd team midweek league (thurs nights) is a better standard than the friendly league Littletown play in, ive played in both over the past few seasons.

Also hear a rumour that the Durham Cricket League will have another new team next season after Burnopfield resigned from the North Tyneside Senior League!!!

Anyone else heard that??

Not heard that one but wouldn't be surprised at all. They are very ambitious with a nice new ground, and a young, hungry side.

I still think that the DCL 3rd team league would be better than the midweek league that we have been playing in this season.

Agree it'd be a better standard, aye. But given that you couldn't play anyone who'd played X amount of first team games in it you'd be expecting a lot of 2nd and 3rd teamers to fill a side every week.
