in a press interview he stated, that he was mightily impressed with how cook behaved off the pitch on tuesday and his after match comments.

so thats ok then moores? nowt at all on his recurring front foot problem, his ability of not placing good fields, his lax attitude towards bowling tactics, once we get a team five down.

how many times do we allow a batsman to score easy runs to a field on the boundary, then bowl bouncers? there are two modes of dismissal taken away with this style of play.

moores has lead englan to 5th in the rankings, only three more to go. this man will never be able to coach england to success. he is a proven failure and will continue to be.

Depressing isn't it?
he sums up english sport, in that failure is rewarded. cook has enhanced his status, despite losing a series 5-0, opens in test match style in odis and now losing to sri lanka in tests at home, never happened before

despite this moores states he was impressed with cook off the pitch. give me strength, that man will say anything to keep this cushy number.
can anyone honestly think we will beat india in any format? no chance in odis or t20, now in tests in theory we have the bowlers, however sri lanka made a mockery of that, imo india have better bowlers
i hate to post this but i am getting on india, big style for the tests. hope i lose but expecting to cover my takeaway budget for the next 6 months

yes,Mr Cartright is depressing at times, tho in this case he's fukn spot on
"English sport rewards failure" and Moores quite happily continues with the tradition instead of doing something about it! I really hope you lose your bet Mr Cartwright, however I suspect you'll be crying all the way to the bank .....

Mate what is he meant to say? Give him a chance like.

he had a chance and failed. the signs are clearly heading the same direction. he is a safe yes man, who knows all the jargon and correct things to say.

he relegated lancashire after winning the league. he has done nothing to justify returning to the england job

we shall see but india are a good bet in all formats, this summer. we then go to sri lanka for odis, with cook and bell, taking up the first 30 overs for between 60 and a 100. then a tri odi series with india and australia, leading to the world cup.

do you think moores will win any of those?

I don't rate him either but you have gone way to early mate, he is going to be here for a few years isn't he, so no point getting worked up about it already like.

had to get it off my chest. he will empty grounds. he left us nigh on bottom of the rankings first time around. he appointed farbrace, imo he has brought us nothing, he was supposedly going to have inside knowledge of sri lanka and saker, what is he asking the bowlers to do?

its going to get a lot worse

Moores is reasonably good at bring through younger players mind, the ones who came in did pretty well, agree with the one day stuff mind.

i will give him that but its our supposed banker players, he will struggle to bring anything to. can he sort cook out both batting and captaincy? can he give bell a kick up the arse for getting out to soft shots when looking set for a million?. will he be able to sort anderson and broad out?

i seriously think the players look at him and think he has never played at the highest level so what can he teach them? pietersen first time around had the guts to call him out about this.

Bell is fine like, he got a couple of good balls this series, that happens.

Don't put Pietersen and guts in the same sentence, absolute arsehole that bloke.

he frustrates me. he makes ultra stylish 50s, then gets out in ways top notch players dont. holed out at mid on or lbw to straight balls.

Bit harsh like, he is a top quality player and I think his record proves it.

On the KP thing, I really don't think he missed at all, we miss Trott and Swann badly.

Moores isn't great, just give it time though, there were some bad mistakes in the last test, but we really weren't far away from winning it, I don't think there is any need for crisis, really need to see how the series with India pans out, there were always going to be ups and downs, do I think Cook should be captain? Probably not but the ridiculous criticism he gets by some is making me defend him even more.

On the one day stuff I couldn't agree more, we really need a forward thinking coach in that area, people criticise us for not producing exciting players, we do have some, they just don't get picked!

cooks a class player out of form and bell has always got out the same way under class coaches so harsh on moores

Bell has played 100 test matches with an average of just over 45, hell of a record, he has averaged over 50 for the last few years, so there is no problem with him what so ever.

Agree with Cook, top class just badly out of form. I think he should probably step down, more so that he can focus on his batting but some of the criticism in the media has been ridiculous, OK it has been bad, but remember before the Ashes he was unbeaten in 13 test matches as captain, things have escalated and key players have left and he is struggling badly. But even though I wouldn't mind him stepping down, I want him to succeed even more to prove some in media wrong, some of the cricisim has been way over the top IMO.

players stepping down? Swann yes, pietersen? hardly forced out simply due to a clash of characters

bell gets out to simple shots, far too many times and needs a boot up the arse to stop it. the last test would have been saved easily bar the pathetic loss of 5 in the last hour of day 4

he has the average, past tense. if pietersen is forced out, with a higher average than bell, all players should come under the same standards from now on
