Got a bat, it's been playing canny. Knocked up today and it was making a horrible crack whenever I hit it, my practice must have sounded like the opening scene on Saving Private Ryan.

Thinking about it I left my bat on my car seat for a week during which it's been exposed to intense heat. Can the sun effectively fry a bat and knack it?

Could have softened the glue in the splice I suppose ? They sound cracky when the splice goes

re-oil front and leave in a cool place bat will take up some moisture and if its still cracking then Skand may be right.

But if you want it deep fryed go for olive oil that vegetable stuff is ok but olives give a nice taste :P

You should never leave a bat in a car for an extended period of time - It will effectively dry it out and make it brittle and more prone to cracking - as macrowners said - give it a light coat of oil and leave it somewhere cool for a bit.

I agree, even if you did leave the window open a crack in this weather it's really cruel.
