Ballance just got a 100 at 3, he is going nowhere.

Stokes not in great form so far, Plunkett will get another go.

Ruffed up Sri Lanka, and did what he was asked, they will stick with him. He is a better bowler than Stokes currently and no need for the extra runs, Stokes is competing with Ali IMO

It will be the same squad and team unless there's any injuries.

Was having a look at the averages today and I know they aren't everything but the only spinner who's taken any wickets at anything like a decent average is Saeed Ajmal which is a major concern. Not a single spinner knocking on the door. Overton and Mills don't seem to be pulling up any trees.

Morgan, Vince and Hales seem to be putting their hands up which is good to see. I think it's criminal that Hales hasn't got a game for the ODI team (I'm not advocating him for the test team). Stokes seems to be in no form at all at the moment, he's going to have to put in some performances if he wants to get back in for the India series.

This won't and shouldn't happen.

Stokes is in no form whatsoever and Borthwick should be played as a batsman or not at all.
 
i think its a cert the same team will play. plunkett at his new home should get plenty. i dont think stokes, at present (good for durham though), will displace jordan
 
Given that they haven't named a squad yet and the game starts on Friday I assume they picked one squad for both games? So it will definitely be the same team again (if everyone's fit).

The squad was named about half an hour after the end of the last test. Unchanged.

There is absolutely no need to ballance and root to swap, one got 100 not out, the other got 200 not out, what more do you want!
 
Have they even announced the squad or is it just accepted that it's the same 11 top class players & Chris Woakes
