Northants won the toss and elected to field at home to Yorkshire....... The visitors are 45-5 .

Clearly their decision to field seems justified now. Finch currently batting along with Rashid. As much as I don't want Yorkshire to win the league - Northants are probably our main concern presently.

Yorkshire 136
Northants 191-7.

17 wickets in a day where 10 overs were lost to bad light - definitely a visit from the pitch panel?! Hope the inspectors change the habit of a lifetime and actually enforce a points deduction!!

Gloucestershire 25-5 v Surrey :D

Not sure what's happening with Taunton either. Sussex 214, Somerset 18-3.

Lancashire 235-7 at Edgbaston too, looking set to get atleast 2 batting points.

Somerset now 39-5 - Magoffin with all five wickets.

Magoffin did for Somerset last season as well.

He must look forward to bowling against them.
Opta just tweeted

35 - Since the start of 2012 no bowler has taken more wickets against a team than 's 35 vs. Somerset. Thorn.

Pretty mad seeing as that's 3 games(unless they've already played each other twice this season)

Alfonso Thomas has taken a hat trick with the last 3 balls of his previous over and taken a wicket with the first of his next over - 4 in 4.

Somerset are 5 down and all wickets fallen with the score on 33.

Just seen that, cracking effort. Still 30+ behind

What the fuck has happened to taunton

26 - The first two matches of 2014 at Taunton averaged 50 runs per wicket. The last two have produced 26 per wicket. Enlivened.

Not Championship but still counties - surely further proof that University games are a waste of time......

Leicestershire 2nd XI 200-1 v Leeds/Bradford
Surrey 430-4d v Oxford 57-9.

Looks like both other games in division one going to be draws.

Good news for durham as didn't want either of warcs or lancs to win.

Halfway through another round of Championship matches and it's looking likely that Northants and Lancashire won't get a win. Northants (as has become the norm) are looking at having to bat very well just to avoid the follow on, whilst Lancashire will undoubtedly be facing a first innings deficit. Although both games are good shouts for draws.

At the wrong end of the table it looks to be working out well for us.

At the right end...... Let's get the Yorkies beaten and see
