Id go for-
1Cook (c)
2Robson
3Root-If he does not deliver in the Sri Lanka series I would drop him for India series.
4Bell (vc)
5Taylor-Deserves a run in the side.
6Ballance
7Prior (wk) Has one more summer in him then should hand the gloves over to either Buttler,Bairstow or Foakes.
8Stokes
9Broad
10Jordan-This is his big chance.
11Anderson.
Finn-In the squad but has been overtaken by Jordan for that last paceman slot.
Tredwell -Cant see selectors going back to Panesar especially after his latest disciplinary episode,Kerrigan is still developing,Borthwick is more of an allrounder than specialist spinner so I would go with Tredwell for now.

This team has a very long tail with Stokes batting at no8.A four man pace attack with Root the occasional spinner making up a five man attack.

  1. Cook
  2. Hales
  3. Root
  4. Bell
  5. Ballance
  6. Prior
  7. Stokes
  8. Borthwick
  9. Broad
  10. Jordan
  11. Anderson
  12. Buttler
  13. Ali

  1. Cook
  2. Hales
  3. Root
  4. Bell
  5. Ballance
  6. Prior
  7. Stokes
  8. Borthwick
  9. Broad
  10. Jordan
  11. Anderson
  12. Buttler
  13. Ali
Hales is an interesting one, I agree.Pietersen was full of praise for the lad the other day.Should be in for the ODI against India.Cant see them selecting two wicketkeepers though in the 13.

moores couldnt risk hales in an odi, so cant seeing him in a test side. will probably stick with carberry, but the rest i agree with
Carberry looks too extended to me at Test Match level which is worrying given his 30+ age.Like Lambert at footy he will be exposed at the highest level. Both 30+.There time has gone. Why weren't they good enough 5-7 years ago.Time and age is against them succeeding.Wrong picks.

i agree but this is moores. why on earth are we opening with bell and cook in odis and bell in t20s. there are players gagging for chances but moores wont bite the bullet and he will go with experience. that is why we have a potential call for foster, which athers stated would be ridiculous and a return to nassers era

Not my opinion what I believe they will pick

Carberry
Cook
Bell
Ballance
Root
Morgan
Prior
Stokes
Jordan
Broad
Anderson

Subs
Buttler
Tredwell

1. Cook
2. Robson
3. Ali/Borthwick
4. Bell
5. Taylor
6. Balance
7. Stokes
8. Buttler
9. Jordan
10. Broad
11. Anderson

12. Finn
13. Borthwick/Ali

Doubt we'll ever see Borthwick in above number 6 in international cricket.

Somebody on here other day said Morgan could be similar player to KP ie playing style, how quick they scored. Think Hales is a better comparison. Only 24 too I think.

it was me and another. i am not saying its true but looking at things in the odis and morgan not playing ipl, as someone had a word with him, i think he will be in for the first test. hales should have played in the odis. bell/cook are god batsmen but their abilities are simply not suited to odis, imo

Got to find space for Woakes, Overton and Mills IMHO there mate

For what it's worth I would pick

Cook
Ali
Bell
Ballance
Taylor
Stokes
Prior/Foster
Borthwick
Jordan
Broad
Anderson
chunky surely not a timewarp back to foster. he is a good keeper but his time has passed. cant see borthwick getting in, as he is hardly bowling

for what its worth

cook, carberry, root, bell, ballance, prior/buttler, stokes, jordan broad, anderson tredwell, ali and poss woakes

If we make a complete a balls up of this series then Moores will have even more pressure mounting on him right from the start. My judgment is that he should never have been appointed.

Cook
Robson
Bell
Root
Ballance
Stokes
Butler
Jordan
Broad
Anderson
Panesar

If you need a squad of 13 maybe add Patel or Ali and plunkett

totally agree about Hales, they just don't fancy him, typical Enlgish safe picks instead.

I have seen Hales live a few times over the years, and he has defs got something, he stands tall and plays some glorious strokes.

He's become known as a bit of a big hitter in the last two seasons or so but I've seen him play some beautiful strokes with precise timing. Well worth a go in my opinion.

Cook
Ali
Bell
Root
Ballance
Stokes
Butler
Jordan
Broad
Anderson
Plunkett
Carberry

Carberry wouldn't be my pick but I suspect the above will be the squad.. Not in any particular order.

6. Balance
7. Stokes
8. Buttler
9. Jordan
10. Broad
