cook does not think buttler is ready

England got it absolutely spot on from about 2009 to 2013, one of our greatest team but they need to change after last year, and the early signs are they really haven't.

How old is Brad Haddin? He got selected ahead of Matthew Wade because the selectors wanted experience. It would not have been 5-0 had Haddin not played IMHO

if you are comparing foster with haddin, for experience, then its way out as foster has hardly played any international cricket whereas buttler has

one last thing, cook states that it was one of the best innings he had seen but not ready for test. imo cook could never play an innings like that, therefore, he is not ready for odis

Buttler himself says he's not ready for test cricket.

I'm not comparing Foster to Haddin, but you said "only England would pick a 34 year old Foster ahead of Buttler" and clearly it isn't only England. There is nothing to suggest Buttler would be a success at test level, Foster at least is an experienced keeper and has a decent first class average. Safe pair of hands whilst Prior gets back to fitness.

i didnt say that. about 34 yr old foster. anyway, who do you think sri lanka would rather face? all day and night foster it would be, not someone who has smacked the all over

I am sorry but you can't compare the two players like, Haddin is a hell of a player, who was only dropped because he took a break from the game due to his ill daughter

prior will be number 1 for a few years yet, so why can't buttler play the odd game? to say he is not ready immediately after that innings was very poor like. As have been the ODI selections, no hales, and everyone batting at least 1 place to low down. Need to starting thinking england

how many innings has foster made in international cricket, showing he is ready?

buttler has been around the england squad for about 2 years, knows how things are and we may see foster. this is the time to blood buttler, he is in form, no malinga in tests either and surely he deserves a go in front of foster
