BBC reckons it won't hit Chester le Street until five O'clock - quite a different forecast from yesterday's doom and gloom!

That's probably been the plan to put them in after lunch. Might as well get as many as they can now and attack the bowlers - can work in our favour as they'll easily get rattled. Ha'way ooops!

Time wasting from Middlesex denies us another over before Lunch. We're 525-8, probably worth declaring now. I fancied atleast 550 (meaning 401 to avoid the follow-on) but I can't see much point now of wasting overs in adding a further 25 after lunch. Get straight at them, what with rain forecast over the rest of the game. Excellent innings' from Scotty and from Rocky. That aside there wasn't much else, but there didn't need to be :lol:.

Weird ... but I suppose with two and a half days to bowl out the opposition they're trying to make sure of the follow on. Interesting to see what the preferred run target was for a declaration? Just hope the gamble works .... ha'way me bonny lads ...

Haha! gerrin - that's some going from the youngster. You may well be right with that call. Anyway, over 400 to avoid the follow on was going to be psychologically a massive hurdle. Every extra run from now on is a bonus.
