im not there to actually see it but his numbers in the recent t20s have been very good, i just feel we would massively benefit from a solid spin option and pringle would benefit from more time out there. i know what youre saying and maybe you are right, it is certainly with hindsight you can say we could have afforded to put him in at the expense of a batsman but even before that batting down to 8 is unnecessarily cautious IMO

aye, jealous mustve been a great day. weather down here was topper, hope it was canny up there for yas anarl

No you have very valid points, could easily happen. We will see if Scotty is fit enough to bowl, but sooner or later we have to trust him to by our front line spinner when required, he may go for a few, but it is the only way he will improve. Once everyone fit, we are probably 1 batsman short of a formidable side IMO.

:eek: you are clearly very greedy

re borthwick im beginning to feel like if they really rated his bowling he would already be the front line spinner.

I don't think is bowling has came along as well as hoped, especially compared to his batting. From my memory when i played against him in my teens, he was always more known for his bowling. Now its the opposite.

i think orignally he was an opening bat, then went to bowling then went back to batting but this is just vauge memories from something i read or listened to, could be wrong and have no idea what ages this happened at [if it even did]

Gutted I missed this, fancied going but we fly away on holiday on Tuesday. Just simply too much to do to justify going today.

Beautiful this morning in my part of gods own county. Humid mind, hope the forecast afternoon showers don't materialise.

Feels a bit 'sticky' out there actually, bit moisture under foot too when I had the derg out a moment ago. Which may help the ball swing - certainly not a bad thing with us having 400 on the board :D

Wood c Denly b Murtagh 9. 422-5.

Collingwood in, I think now is the time to play some shots.

I think once 110 overs have been reached we'll see the runs flow. Middlesex still attacking in search on bowling points but once 110 overs come I think the field may spread.

Couple of boundaries from Colly off Patel, hopefully a sign of the intent to follow.

Might get 7/8 overs in before Lunch, would like to think we can score 50 or so from that. 490-5 currently, I'd aim for 600 by 14:40 weather permitting.

Colly at his best - but pinching the strike on the last ball of the over! Nerves are shredding here ...

Scotty has faced seven balls and not a run ........ enough to make a man turn to drink ...
