He slipped it's not like they got him out with great bowling

I'm not suggesting they did, I just mean it'd be disappointing after such a fantastic day if we let them get anymore wickets.

Murtagh reaches a ton...... 20 overs, 1 maiden, no wickets, 102 runs.

madness when he's been one of the best bowlers in the championship this season

average gone up from 20 odd to 30 today

5 overs left today, Middlesex have slowed the over rate since the new ball was taken so we won't get any extra overs tonight. 398-3, ticking along very nicely.

He's usually one of the stingiest too! So to go for 5 an over is madness

Maximum batting points for the first time this season. From 92 overs. 53 fours and a six in it. Wonderful, wonderful batting performance. Borthwick 161*, Stokes 19*.

Stokes clean bowled by Finn for 23 from a shooter..... 411-4.

2.1 overs left and Wood comes in as a nightwatchman. Not sure I'm too pleased with that.

Mind it's nice to hear the pitch is misbehaving with us having 400+ in the bank :p

Shame we've lost the wickets in this session, but to get 400 in the first day is incredible.

only 9 runs short of making 140 in every session which is absolutely crazy considering how batting has been at CLS in recent seasons

I made a comment at Tea stating how even if we lost 3/4 wickets in this session we'd still be well in control, as the case has been. Batting has been excellent today. 4 wickets only in a day, one of which was a slip that caused a run out and another came courtesy of the pitch. Pretty flawless performance from Durham otherwise.

Close 411-4  Borthwick 164*, Wood 0*.

Let's hope that the weather holds so we can get a result. Now down to our bowlers to get something out of the pitch ....
