Weather looks set fair which is a bonus. Hopefully a dry day tomorrow - as predicted - will help some of the poorer draining grounds out. Wearmouth included.

2s are away to Tantobie on Sat and the 3s have Washy in the cup on Sunday. Hopefully make a (positive) impression in both games.
 

My son is due to play at Wearmouth soon.

His academy game is off on Sunday coming as the team they were due to play in the cup hasnt been able to play their game yet due to the rain. Playing havoc with the season.
 
I have Blackhall @ home on Sunday in NYSD Sunday Div 2. Captain this year for the 3rd team, full of kids, im oldest player most weeks and im only 20! Half the team are 14/15. Least they are all enjoying it and getting senior cricket under their belt!

@lukehutchinsonn: Best game of cricket I've seen in a while so close so tense a mean, 30-1, then 37-7 then 49-9 and still managed to get 85 great result #ecc

A win for Houghton 1sts and 2nds at home and away to Kimblesworth respectively.

Firsts put on 190 and bowled Kimblesworth out for 80(ish)

Seconds put on 110(ish) and bowled Kimblesworth out for 70(ish) - great in-depth analysis I know.

Both sides unbeaten in the league still. Not sure of any other results in the league so not sure where either side will be placed

How did liam chaytor do for yous. I taught him cricket in peterlee when he was 10/11. Know he was at blackhall before moving to peterlee. If he was shite, nowt to do with me, if he was mint, then obviously my early influence

Was impressed by Liam, 5 overs, 3 maidens, 6-1, has some good pace. Batted well as well, and seems like a canny lad. Good signing for us.

So I would say good job on the coaching front!

Ha ha. I started some cricket at shotton hall about 2005 and quickly realised we had a lot pf talented lads incl him. At one stage about 20 lads 9/10/11 were at blackhall, castle eden and peterlee. Tell him Mr G (not greaves as isnt me name) from shottonhall was asking after him

The pro normally bowls pace but the ball wasnt swinging so reverted to spin, Couple of the academy lads said he was ragging it square, one lad left one well outside off stump and it came back and hit leg :lol:

Bowling spin he took 7 wickets for 3 runs.
 
Fist bumps all round fellas!

Wearmouth 3s posted 216 from 42.4 overs.
Washington batted through 45 to the score of 160-odd, which doesn't do them justice. Slow outfield and good fielding from balls that should have been out away. A lot of "good" shots for nothing. Too many wides conceded by them too. Shame because it was a good close game.

I picked up 2 wickets for 21 off 6 runs. First over went for 12 as well. :oops:
