Freddie's back

If he was playing yesterday it would have put at least one on the gate!

Why not, have half a good T20 season here and then go make loads of cash in the IPL with all the other semi retired former internationals. And film it of course, for another 3 part "Freddie does documentary".

It might not be. He's got himself into the best shape of his life. Those injury niggles might just stop now...
If and it's a big if , he performed somewhere near his old self, he would do a very good job for the T20 team better batsmen and bowler then Dernbach, even 5 years out of the game.

People taking it a bit to seriously, great to see IMO, so what if it makes it a bit of a joke, cricket needs all the star games it can get. It is a big ask for him, I am sure he can bowl it quick but not playing for 5 years will test your instincts.

Personally I started to dislike him since his post cricket days, but loved him as a cricketer, and can't wait to watch the roses 20/20 next week like to be fair

Yeah probs doing it for documentary reasons, you are right though, he is looking n great shape, say he went will this year he would have loads of offers.

Surprised he didn't do this earlier, he only has to bowl 4 overs, could of done it 2-3 years ago.

I thought the same about Swann, he has shot himself in the foot here, he wanted out of the rigours of touring with England, whether you think that is right or wrong mid-tour is true, but he has left himself in a position where he will be criticised heavily if he was to come back as a 20/20 player. He could of got gigs all over the world, and was still good enough

t20 is a bit of fun for a family orientated crowd, most of whom, have not got the time or money, to follow the longer forms of the game. though we lost last night v lancs, i thought the atmosphere at the end was cracking. the kids love it and for the game to continue, we need kids to get into cricket.
as for freddie coming back, i look forward to seeing him play. he is a big name still and you will get people going, who may not have. especially the fat lads togged out in jacamo gear, like me like

Amazing he got himself into great nick for a mickey mouse boxing match whilst playing the best part of his career 2 stone overweight..
great post that. how his cricket team mates must have seen that

sky showing yorkshire v lancs next friday the 6th june at old trafford, expecting him to play

Must be short of money atm is all i can think. Can remember him saying cricket is the third most boring sport and that it was just a means to an end... unless he has had a change of heart

You know the saying, "you shouldn't meet your heroes" (not that he was a "hero" of mine, I'm too old for such crap). met him post-cricket, utter cock.

Great cricketer though. :D

I reckon he won't start.

All the publicity will bring in a sell out crowd, then there'll be an announcement 20 minutes before the start saying Fred has pulled a muscle in a pre-match net.

Could be the first major cricket in an English domestic game.
