Only two counties in the country have a "Nursery" ground I think.
Bit pointless if you ask me unless they are intending on playing all second XI game on it...

Rose Bowl and Lords?
Could be right about the second XI stuff. I know when Brandon offered their services for a few games the club were delighted because I think DCCC were struggling to find hosts for the 2's. On top of that is Academy games and such so a Nursery Ground could come in handy from time to time.
Although planning may be a problem - unless they put it on the current recreational land owned by the Council where the football fields are and the running track.
The thinking is that the new ground will replicate conditions at the Riverside enabling 2nd team and academy players to familiarize themselves with conditions at the Riverside.Heard the plans over the weekend to build a nursery ground at the Riverside. Just wondering why they would bother with this. I wasn't aware that the ground was inundated with games, and with a number of excellent local club grounds, not really sure it is needed.
Really surprised at how small the nursery at lords is, was shocked when I first saw it.yep,
Lords Nursery Ground hosts all types of games from Middlesex second team games to Uganda v North London boys friendly games...
