so to explain the reasons behind the performance of the team?

it appears the coach is questioned at the end of a series and not before

as expected the notebook was on show but looking at the body language ( cook, farbrace, saker), not one smiled or even discussed the ongoing game

Well we can't have one extreme after a bad result the other day to the other after a good result today.

Peter Moores, take a bow son.

Lamented after being made a scapegoat when Pietersen should have been banished earlier, went back to County Cricket, worked hard and got the job he shouldn't have lost back and the guides England to their fastest ever ODI win. What a guy.

2nd fastest according to bumble. to be fair, he put away the notebook and watched the game today

Coaches in cricket should not be as responsible for things as other sports like football.

The most important part is selecting the right players, and having the right captain and senior players. The staff should be there to support them. Players should not need telling what to do, and should be able to adjust their plans accordingly depending on the game situation.

in a perfect world but england for a long time, have had a large amount of coaches f!or everything. moores has to show that england can win the ashes back and this summer, should help him show if he can pick a squad/team that has potential to do so. i have my doubts but would loveto be proved wrong

I agree, it has def worked, I was a massive fan of the Strauss/Flower combination, and although all the coaches worked, it was actually that we had an excellent group of players. Strauss, Colly, Cook, KP, Bell, Trott, Broad, Swan, Prior, Jimmy etc, some team that by the way!

I would just like the some of the players coming through to be able to express themselves and take more responsibility, as I don't think they have the talent currently to stick to regimented plans if that makes sense.

A lot will actually depend on Stokes strangely enough, in a weird way he is replacing Swann, because it would allow us to pick just the 3 seamers, the same way Swann's ability allowed us to do so.

good post. the way jordan is playing, he may get in ahead of stokes. being selfish for durham, i hope so

Don't think he could construct an innings likes Stokes. Also they like as much batting as possible, hence why Bresnan has shamefully got ahead of Onions for so long

For a Durham perspective I totally agree with you.
