Against Warwickshire in the one day game on July 31st.

David Harker claims it's a good chance for those north of the Tyne to watch their local county.

150 year anniversary. I think I'll include this in my email to the club. Wonder which county outside of our own we'll be playing a home game next...... Shropshire perhaps?? Or Suffolk??

Never been through South North before. Anyone know what it's like?

On another note though why can't people in Newcastle go watch Northumberland?

Great for South North CC but I'm a bit sceptical of the wisdom of it. There's very little permanent seating in the ground which isn't a major problem but will need sorting, and then there's virtually no local parking at the ground itself, I wouldn't imagine the locals are happy with the prospect of having what little on road parking they have being taken over by a cricket crowd.

I'm sure all those fans 'North of the Tyne' could make the short journey south to Chester-le-street if they really wanted to.

David Harker is a f***ing wanker.

There are plenty of "fans" South of the Tyne that don't make the short journey to Chester le Street either.

DCCC just one of a number of successful things being plagarised by geordies as their own.... File us in the same cabinet as the 2013 Ashes, The Metro Centre and most recently, Gatesheads wembley appearance.

I'm from northumberland surely I cannit support sunderland, if people from northumberland can't follow durham.
Why are you called mackembhoy?
I fully appreciate safc have a handful of fans north of the tyne who all have a deeprooted history of Safc in their family. For everyone one of you there are 500 plastic 1992 mags from county durham who call themselves geordies. Not sure what bearing this has on the OP mind...? Support who you want but it doesnt change the allegience between Durham & Sunderland.

Because I made the account when I was 15 and being from morpeth I was led to believe by mag mates that all sunderland fans were mackems.

Wasn't till I came on here till I the wool was pulled from my eyes.

As has been touched on here dozens of times; If John Hall had got his theiving filthy hands on a cricket team 20 years ago and had them playing out of Jesmond or Gosforth, NUFC fans and also the people of Northumberland & Newcastle would not give a flying shit about Durham County Cricket Club.

Okay.

I don't have a problem with it. I actually preferred the days we used to play at the outgrounds. Loved the racecourse ground and always liked Hartlepool. The batsmen will be happy anyway

Aye, fond memories of losing 16 out of 18 games every season & watching David Ward smash 100 off 40 balls at Darlington, Jon Longley and James Boiling ferreting around in someones back garden trying to retrieve the ball. Great days (!)

My gripe with it though is that there are plenty of grounds in the county if Durham who would love to host a county game. The home of Northumberland County Cricket Club shouldn't have that honour over them. The likes of Darlington, Hartlepool and Stockton for example.

some of the comments on here are amazing

i am sure that when harmi was bowling no one gave a toss he was from Ashington

i am not an expert but the work that has been done at South North on the facilities has been excellent

yes Durham are the first class county but a great deal of effort was done by all in the early days such as the joint county day matches at the Callers tournament etc

It is a one day match to recognise an anniversary of a club who are doing a great deal to promote cricket
