When he was at Birmingham a couple of my mates who supported them said at the time he didn't know what he was doing and he seemed to be buying every championship striker he could while they had a shit midfield. He came here and started buying every championship midfielder he could.

A few years back one of me mates got talking to a few brum fans on holiday.
We were (in effect) in Hulls position & Birmingham in ours.
The Brum fans told him pretty much what we're saying to the Hull fans now.

We have been in three cup finals since 1973. You have spent half that time in the bottom two divisions and have never won any major trophies, unless you count the Watneys Cup.

The most noteworthy thing you have done before this season is Phil Brown's halftime team talk.

I've just read a few more of your posts and saying stuff like "I can't stand Sunderland" and now making sweeping generalisations?? I don't slag off all previous managers, my expectations aren't ridiculous

You dish out abuse, you'll get abuse back. Not saying that his reign was all bad, was very pleased with him throughout the first 18 months or so of his reign: shipped out some absolute dross on his arrival such and brought in (mostly) superior replacements and at times he had us playing some excellent football, but once we sold Bent it became very clear that he was carrying us as a side and Bruce as a manager and between his sale in January and the end of the season I'd be very surprised if we weren't in the bottom 3 of the form table.

Like I said, I'd have sacked him at the end of the 2010/11 season as there were some very worrying signs emerging such as the dreadful run of form, blaming everyone else but himself for his mistakes and signing players without a clue as to what position they actually played. But he stayed and his final transfer window was an absolute horror show and set us back years, the results continued to take a downward spiral, the excuses became more and more laughable and we looked relegation certainties by the time he was sacked.

He did a good job to start with, gave us an opportunity to really kick on and fucked it up spectacularly.

His record here once we sold Bent: Played 29, Won 6, Drew 6, Lost 17.

Your knowledge is somewhat flawed. It was the Watney Cup and we didn't win it. And I am not embarrassed about our lack of success. And you haven't been in any cup finals of note since 73. Johnson's Paint Trophy, or similar, doesn't count and you lost anyway.
