Bruce sold Darren Bent for £18M, who was scoring freely in the premier league and tried to replace him with 2 teenagers (Wickham and JI) for £10M neither of whom were/are good enough and wondered why we were miffed. Half the poor players he bought are taking our club down.

The man is an ugly, fat clown who believes his own bullshit.

I absolutely guarantee selling Bent was not Steve Bruce's idea.

Barking up the wrong tree.

edit: although signing Craig Gardner was his idea so he can fuck off.

Just looked at the table. The Tigers could still go down. Cmonnn Fulham.

We felt the same as you do in the January of his second season. Contrary to what he tells you his 'Geordie roots' were never an issue, nobody chased him out of town or threw darts at him. He was always well supported and retained the backing of the crowd despite a 17 game, 4 month winless run in his first season. He was forgiven for the 5-1 defeat against the Mags then spent literally every press conference counting down the days til the next derby and talking about which songs he'd play if we were to beat them (we didn't, the team didn't turn up). But he had us flying in the league than January and was given a new, much welcomed contract on the back of it.

Then it went very wrong. From the January to his sacking at the end of November we won a total of 3 home games. He dismantled the decent team he'd built and replaced it with a job lot of shite that we've been unable to clear out since because of the wages they're on. His paranoia kicked in and he blamed anybody and everybody for his failings. He placed without any strikers away to Brighton in the cup then blamed 'the strikers' for us losing. His constantly blamed fans expectations when his record of 21 points from his last 27 games - bottom of the league relegation form - was questioned. He famously said "we're only Sunderland, let's not get ideas above our station" when his record was criticised. We were in or just outside the relegation zone when he was sacked. A section of the ground chanted "Bruce out" in the last minute of his penultimate game and the "Fat Geordie bastard" song for literally 1 minute when Wigan scored a 90th minute winner in his last game, otherwise he received none of the personal abuse he crows on about.

Since his sacking he's spouted complete and utter lies about us. He actually backtracked when he was pulled up about it on Goals on Sunday once, but the admittedly fantastic job he's done at Hull has given him free reign to spread complete lies and fabricate abuse, which is why he is hated. A good chunk actually wished him well when he left, but in answer to your question, the reason we hate him is the lies, moaning and whinging.

Because he completely lost the plot in his final 9 months and he blamed everyone else but himself, including the fans, for his own ineptitude.

Should have sacked him at the end of the 2010/11 season to be honest. That 10th placed finish papered over some massive cracks which were starting to appear.
I was at a function at the SoL at the end of the 2010/11 season and he was on our table. He said that he thought that Short was going to sack him as they did not get on. I bet Short wished he had sacked him then, I certainly fuckin do.

£18M was a very decent price for Bent. Who bought Wickham and JI mate, Jim's Ma?
Ji only cost £2M marra. He scored a monumental goal against City and took all the shite from our experts and we could have profited from off him if not for PDC. If you want to point fingers it should be our current Management and our number 10 who cost 4 times more than Ji and cares more for his hair than scoring goals.

Pretty much what I would have wrote if I could be arsed, though my subsequent dislike of Bruce is exceeded more towards the twats on here who try to say anything other than this for their pathetic attention seeking.

Hi guys.

Was just wondering why you hate steve bruce so much.

What are the exact reasons?

Imho you guys got rid of him to soon?

I've not read the rest of the thread so I imagine you've already been informed. Just in case you haven't, he got sacked because his record was f***ing appalling. He then proceeded to blub to the media that he was hounded out because he was a 'Geordie' and we just divvent understand man. The bloke is a deluded idiot. A decent championship manager.

Fell out with our star players (Gyan and Bent)
Even tho he knew both wanted to leave at least 6 months in advance he didn't replace them or have plans to replace them
Had a scattergun approach for our signings without any real plan on how he wanted us to play
Wasted money on players who weren't anywhere near good enough (both transfer fee's and Wages)
Bottled all our big games

It seems he has sorted out a the transfers a bit with an actual plan on how he wants to play at Hull. While he might of kept us up the year he got sacked he started the cycle which has lead to us going down this year

Oh and he won't let us forget his small success while not mentioning his massive failings

EDIT - Look at his last 12 months in charge with his record he barley won a game

Ji was a little coward (Palace away) who we should have never bought. Bar one goal and one bottled header his time here is instantly forgettable.

Still cost us buttons and with the slate he received from our expert pundits including yourself, has at least earned his wages. Can not say the same for Wickham and some of our class players.

went on a run of 3 wins in 20+ games or whatever.

kept knocking the fans and making small-time comments in the media such as "we're only Sunderland" after dropping from 6th to 13th in the league or summit.

Then goes out and says he was sacked 'cos he was a Geordie. (perfect excuse for him after seeing his side roll over and get fucked 5-1 off them)

Sold - Bent, Henderson, Jones, Malbranque, Gyan, Cana, Mensah
Bought - Ji, Larsson, Gardner, Riveros, Da Silva, Wickam
