Just he has said he is a confidence keeper and he's definitely lost his way recently. It's not like he's used to being a 38 game a season keeper so can understand how he's blipped recently. Especially when the defence is constantly changing.

If it was Cardiff next I wouldn't take him out the team but it's City and Chelsea. Could both be 3+

Since Hull at home he's certainly lost his way. He's not saving shots that he really should be saving, his legs look like led when he's moving across his line and now he doesn't even have the confidence to claim crosses.

Is it worth putting Ustari in for the rest of the season and taking Mannone away from the firing line (especially when our next 2 are City and Chelsea)? Then Mannone can focus on being first choice for next season.

Why ?

He's been poor recently and his whole game is handling and distribution. He's been flappy and isn't saving things he should.

He's never been a prem keeper over a long run of games. So much like when a young player needs to be took out the team and protected we should do the same with him imo.

He is still much better than Ustari when he's not at his best though. So I don't get it.

True, but putting him in ahead of Manonne won't do us any good IMO mate. I know what your saying about we might as well because this season is over for us but, rather keep the so called best players on the pitch.

Fair enough. That's why I posed the question, certainly wasn't trying to slag him off.

Just needs his confidence back and it depends how he feels that would be best for him. Hopefully it's by playing a blinder at city.

A solid goalkeeper who won't cost many points, but who won't win too many either.

He lets in a few goals where he's not at fault for them, but a better goalkeeper (ie Mignolet) would save them.

mignolet has been worse this season for a better team.

i have seen mignolet make more mistakes than mannone this season.

Bet Mignolet has won them more points though.

The lad also won us an unholy amount of points last season as well. He's quite simply a better goalkeeper.

personally dont think its as simple as you are making out.

we have barely been in a position for a keeper to 'win' any points this season at all.

Never said it was that simple - Mannone is solid, nothing more, nothing less. He's never going to win us games single handedly and will rarely cost us; goalkeepers who are 'very good' or better do much more than him.[DOUBLEPOST=1397332490][/DOUBLEPOST]

Foster and McGregor are the only ones I would challenge. Other than that a good effort.

I'm not annoyed, he's been a solid keeper but he's shown nothing to suggest he's better than the ones you mentioned, Vorm apart.
