He's not mind his shot stopping is poor, he's caught on his heels quite a bit, never seen the ball go just past a keeper so many times. Also he is left standing more than any other keeper in the division.

His big + is his handling, command of area, distribution. When he looks like he's lost his confidence so he isn't coming to claim the ball it seems strange to keep playing him.

I like him but he is struggling atm

Think the not-coming-for-the-ball thing has coincided with O' Shea And Brown deciding that the rest of our season is to be decided in the manner of a pissed Vietnam veteren at a Russian roulette table.

Mignolet, Marshall and De Gea are on another level to Mannone, you could maybe make a case for the rest you've bolded but I just don't think he's all that.
mannone has been better than mignolet this season in a worse team.

marshall is poor and de gea is like a lost little boy in goal. if he was playing for hull instead of man u no one would ever mention him

i wouldnt take over mannone.

Really?

Fair enough. I'm not saying Mannone is poor by any means but the premier league is lucky to have so many good quality keepers. All the ones I named are really good shot stoppers and therefore more rounded keepers imo.

Just think that when his confidence is clearly nocked it's abit strange to continue to play him when Ustari is competent and we are down already.

have people melted down so much that they are resorting to slagging off mannone?

he has been out best player this season and would be in a much much worse position without him.

Doesn't help when the CBs change every week too.

How's it slagging him off?

I'm just saying he's lost confidence so it'd be best for him to take a break from the team and then he comes back in next season.

It's a fact he's not the best shot stopper and also that he's really good off his line however looks shakey for some reason at the moment

Looks like he's lost all confidence recently.

He's never been a great shot stopper however a big part of his game was handling/distribution.

Since Hull at home he's certainly lost his way. He's not saving shots that he really should be saving, his legs look like led when he's moving across his line and now he doesn't even have the confidence to claim crosses.

Is it worth putting Ustari in for the rest of the season and taking Mannone away from the firing line (especially when our next 2 are City and Chelsea)? Then Mannone can focus on being first choice for next season.
Taking him out of the team would push him further to the exit door more than anything else. I don't understand where your coming from at all.

I don't think it would. We've shown a lot of faith in him next season and he will know he's first choice next season.

Just he has said he is a confidence keeper and he's definitely lost his way recently. It's not like he's used to being a 38 game a season keeper so can understand how he's blipped recently. Especially when the defence is constantly changing.

If it was Cardiff next I wouldn't take him out the team but it's City and Chelsea. Could both be 3+

I wouldn't say Mannone has had a better season than Mignolet and De Gea is a little inconsistent but top class on his day.

I can't remember any games where Mannone has won us points, it was a regular occurrence with Mig last season.

Nothing against Vito, he's just a bit average.
