@JohnSunCricket: Kumar Sangakkara will join Durham the week after next. He will play for a few weeks as preparation for Sri Lanka's ODIs & Tests in England.

Seeing as the T20's don't start till the middle of summer he won't play a single T20.
No idea but dont t20s start in june or summit. Assume he is playing LVCC but nothing on club's twitter yet. Dare I say it but sounds a great signing
Sure the t20's start earlier but from what is going around twitter at the moment it seems like it's just a short term deal until the Sri Lanka tour starts. Happy days!

If true this is another occasion when big news comes from another official source.

Whatever they pay Durham's Media Manager, it's far too much

They're tweeting about other stuff as we speak mate

Also, few journos reckon there are two other SL players to sign with counties on sinilar deals, prior to tests

Don't think we have one now. That Aussie lass left after the season finished.

I've just asked one of the players if this is true and he laughed and said he wished it was true.

The lads had practice this morning and nothing was said to them then.

Yet Simon Wilde and John Etheridge - Two respected cricket journos - have gone public with this info. Seems odd that they would do this without any substance.

On the other side of the coin - it does seem odd that the club were bigging up a new signing onlu a few weeks ago which turned out to be Hastings, then for Sanga - a much bigger name in international cricket - they've said nowt.

It may well be true, but if it is then the lads haven't been told yet, which I'd find surprising.

Or they have been told but also told not to say anything until it's announced officially.
You could be right, but you never know with the info coming out of Durham, look at the Benks situation, it was mentioned on here long before the club confirmed it.

It's also been reported on the Sri Lanka cricket site, but just as a link to one of twitter accounts mentioned in an earlier post.

Excellent signing if true, but another let down from Durham's media department if the news is out before the club announces it.

Great news if this is true. Got a proven track record in the CC too. Although batting at Chester-le-street will be a real test of character

Great signing for Durham, county cricket is incredible though, who else would let the national teams opponents get invaluable training in before a massive test series when the England team are at their lowest ebb in a decade.
