But watch this over from Brett Lee and observe the other players Australia had playing for their Academy in 1997. Absolutely frightening, they probably could have won an Ashes series by themselves at the time!

None of their winter team sports unite the country, cricket does thats why it will always be a major sport in the country and is played in all schools during the summer. The problem here is that every sport in the country is a minority sport in footballs shadow. The reason why it has remained popular in County Durham even during the minor county decades is because of the miners welfare programe that every pit village would have a cricket team.
