Durham v MCC

Managed to listen to a bit of the commentary today, sounds like Coughlin could be a handy cricketer for us. Not sure which MCC cricketer was doing the commentary with Marty at the time but he made the point his style of bowling was ideal for the Riverside. Great to here after the nightmare he had with the back injury last season. Hopefully he and Arshad can keep the more established seamers on their toes especially as both could be classed as bowling all rounders.

aye losing stokes will be a big blow but if arshad can carry on where he left off last season it won't be noticed so much with progress from coughlin and the arrival of hastings[assuming he adapts well enough] we could even have a little bit of competition for places who'd have thought?]

rocky, jennings, scotty, richo, colly, hastings, mustard, arshad, coughlin/harrison, rushy, onions

muchall, singh, breesy, pringle, buckley, wood, poynter [nice to hear on commentary he got a few centuries in his last few matches of last year] etc

Triffic workout, hopefully we can hit the ground running

We'll need to to defend our title

Start delayed until 11am Uk time. 8 overs lost. Could help us slightly. Less time to bat during daylight conditions for the MCC.

Early wickets needed like.

one of the things i love about cricket is winning the title one year doesn't make you more likely to win it next year, the big don't necessarily get bigger each and every year like football

True.

Though sadly the reason for that is that nobody apart from a few nutters like us think the CC is worth winning

Going to be over shortly this. Bowling far too many four balls.[DOUBLEPOST=1395833915][/DOUBLEPOST]53-0 off ten overs today. Might not get to the 'floodlit' phase......

all the while sehwag is there we don't have a hope. need 80 with 7 wickets left. we took their last 7 for 70 odd last time out so there is still hope but not much with sehwag 80 off 60 or so..

Decent game for the lads. Time in the middle was more important than the result.

This. Marty summed it up well in his report. Four players to come back into that side but certainly Lewis will have food for thought after some decent performances by fringe players.

With a friendly against Kent starting on Sunday I think we'll be well prepared for Northants.
