County Champion Match. Sunday 23 March - 2:30pm start.

I know it's still nearly a week away but I'm excited. So here's the first Match Thread of the 2014 season.

Marty will be commentating on the game and it'll be available on 5 Live Sports Extra. Coverage starts at 4:30pm after the T20 but there'll be a stream online for the whole days play. Not sure if there'll be any highlights on Sky but I assume there'll be cameras there.

Durham squad flying to Abu Dhabi:
Mark Stoneman,
Keaton Jennings,
Scott Borthwick,
Michael Richardson,
Gordon Muchall,
Phil Mustard,
Stuart Poynter,
Gareth Breese,
Mark Wood,
Ryan Pringle,
Usman Arshad,
Jamie Harrison,
Chris Rushworth,
Graham Onions,
Ryan Buckley,
Paul Coughlin.

Ha'way Durham!!

Bit of confusion on the BBC website. Think it's 10:30am here when play starts. BBC have it down as 16:30 start which is neither the actual GMT or local time start .

My understanding is the game starts at 2.30pm in the UAE which will be 10.30 GMT. I could be wrong though.

Late change to Durham squad, Breese out Rammy Singh in, (at least we know Singh is still at the club no sign of his name on a couple of cricket website Durham squad lists) don't know if Breese is injured.

probably not aye, but i would like to see it. we have a plethora of bowlers and young promising bowlers, would give my eye tooth for a young batsmen ready to step into the top 6.

Muchall must have a video of Cook noshing off a dog or summit.

we'll see this season i guess, unless lewis is wanking in teh corner anarl.

TBF who would you pick out of the squad we have ahead of him? we are right up shit creek with our top 7 like, one injury and rami is in, two injuries and we become a snake[DOUBLEPOST=1395313971][/DOUBLEPOST]
With the signing of Poynter does that mean Richardson has gave up the wicketkeeping?

richardson is a full time batsman, poynter is the wicketkeeper for the 2nds. im sure if mustard is injured [or when he wants a bowl] richardson will be gloves

Yes but he did originally come to be the backup keeper. Was just wondering if he was going to focus on the batting from now on.

aye, and IMO he is still the back up keeper. poynter has come to be the keeper in the 2nds as richardson will be playing for the first XI
