I'm backing Poyet.

he even mentioned it in his post match interview. The fans wanted to make our better attacking players come from the bench. I did and they scored. Why not just f***ing start them and go for a win?
Maybe he wanted to give Scocco and Fletcher some match time before our extremely important league run. Brown has to be rested at times sadly. Alonso hasn't been great of late. He brought on 2 impact players with plenty of the game left and watched his side collapse due to individual errors.

6 Players who should he need them to achieve the desired result, he had available to call on, and he did. As I predicted, bring on Johnson and Borini in the 60-65min to get the win. However, Cattermole decided to leave his ability in the changing room and screwed us all over, Poyet included. This was always the game to give Fletcher, Giac and Scocco the mins they meeded, and we had the 6 you mentioned to help out.

What's most alarming about yesterday's result is how reliant it proved we are on Ki, Borini (loanees), Johnson (massively inconsistent) and Brown (sicknote).

We're fragile as fuck.

Absolutely not, but I think he has earned the right for people to trust his approach too.
I agree with that however I think he got it wrong yesterday.
Having watched his interview a few of those who started yesterday have burnt their bridges with him, surprisingly not Cattermole.

There's a lot of truth in the above. We just have to hope we stay injury/suspension free between now and the end of the season.

tbh Cattermole just had a 'mare. You can't legislate for errors.

While it was a weakened team, there were a lot of senior players (inc. Fletcher, Scocco, Giaccherini) who had the platform to prove themselves. He hardly fielded a team of kids.

He can't get carried away by the lure of Wembley. He's trying to build something here, and a huge part of that relies on us being in the top flight.

We can't prioritise everything. He was right to rest key players yesterday, the FA Cup right now is a luxury we cannot afford.

It's too early in Poyet's tenure to chase silverware, but the fact that we're even talking about it - this season of all seasons - should give those laying into him pause for reflection.

We've had the best cup runs in decades. If you let cups be the reason you turn on Poyet, you need to have a word with yourself.

Here's to the real battle.

I back him, he's the best manager we had in years. That doesn't mean he didn't got it wrong badly yesterday. First teamers don't need two weeks away from competitive football.

Oh well that's that then, we lost twice to Hull so let's just sack the whole thing off.

All hail Gus.

Good idea as you don't know when you are well off. That team was good enough to win. The players did not turn up. Worrying thing now is that we are now totally dependant on those players who did not play , based on yesterday's pathetic effort , fletcher, Scocco, Larsson, Giacc don't have the right attitude. These are people to blame. Look at the experience, transfer fees and salaries in that little lot.

Fielded a team with not much shape, pace or organisation, we were a mess.

A fair few people seemed to be suggesting this like. That team should have been capable of a good result still imo.

Brown has played 1 game in the last 5 weeks, how much rest do you want him to have?

Fielded a team without Ki and Borini, in other words. We always look disorganised without Ki, we always look slow without Borini.

One of the most alarming aspects was players on the fringes, if you will, who looked like they simply couldn't be arsed to stake their claim for a starting spot.

Giacc, Fletch, Dossena, Scocco had chances to show why they should be starting and they were shit.

Didn't even look bothered.

Yes, people will say why should they be bothered if Gus wasn't but that was a chance to cement a first team place against relatively poor oppo.
