Actually, it looks like he's been the pick of the fast bowlers - amazingly. Dernbach's slow ball is the equivalent of Fletcher's 'clever flicks'.

only 5 off the last over redeemed himself for the 20 off the previous............................... mind the treadwell drop didnt help

So frustrating when you see him bowl an over like that last one. It's like his ego just won't allow him to try and bowl every over like that, he's got to try and outwit batsman with slower balls instead.

He forgot about bowling his "slow bouncer" and bowled straight and full. Very difficult to hit yorkers and low full tosses for 6.

What i find frustrating wayching England in the field in limited overs cricket, is the insistence of the seam bowlers, not just Dernbach, to pitch the ball half way down the wicket. Last night West Indies needed 13 from 3 deliveries so 3 fours wouldn't have been any good to them. So, i thought, he's just going to pitch it up full and straight to Sammy so he can't hit any sixes. No, he pitches it short and it sails over the boundary for six. Fortunately, Darren Sammy tried to get his bat on a wide delivery so we won the game. Is there some statistic that our coaching staff refer to that shows a positive in short deliveries? I, for the life of me, cannot see it - and i don't see any of the other major countries using the tactic

He nearly messed that up last night.

Had Sammy left the last ball it would have been another wide and 4 to win off the last ball..

That last over was atrocious. It was as if he wanted WIs to win.

The one thing drilled into a bowler in the final over is don't bowl a no-ball or a wide.
