Anyone want to have a go and name Durham's team for the first, first class fixture of the season ?

I have assumed Stokes will be "rested" at England's request. Team looks a little lightweight, having to put Muchall and Richardson in, but who else is there ?

Durham's first 1st class game will be the Champions v MCC in Abu Dhabi, definately no Colly or Stokes.

As for the 1st LVCC game, Colly is due back 2 days before the start, could be some interesting team selections in the opening couple of games.

Durham's first 1st class game will be the Champions v MCC in Abu Dhabi, definately no Colly or Stokes.

Sorry, meant first LVCC game. Put Muchall in because, who else is there ? Could not see Harrison getting in before Wood, Rushworth or Onions.

I'd always have Harrison as 4th seamer for the variation he gives as a left armer. As always with Harrison though is the proviso "if fit". Muchall is limited but is also much maligned. He had a dreadful run batting 3 early season in wet 2012 on bowler friendly pitches. The 2 seasons prior to that he averaged upper 30s which is very respectable when you're playing half your games at the Riverside. He's a prolific scorer in List A format.

Macleod in over Muchall. Except from that it looks a strong side. Would let Poynter keep Wicket over Mustard in the Uni game too.

Surely Clark plays before Muchall in first class cricket as he has got a full contract and Muchall is on a one day contract. From what i can see he is the first reserve batsmen if anyone is unavailable. That may change if Clark is not up to the mark later in the season.
